I’ve handled the bulk of Pit Bits for over 13 years.
ML was an occasional contributor to Pit Bits, usually at the start of each season (outdoors and SX) when there’s a lot to talk about. He’s great at spotting a lot of details.
As any season progresses (we’re at about the midway point of this SX season), we’ve already covered lots of the new bits, there’s less “new” visible tech stuff, and the focus generally changes a bit to newsworthy things happening in and around the races, people, etc. When a new season starts, the cycle starts all over again.
Typically I try to restrict qualifyng oucs to about the top five of each class, along with some newsworthy or style shots. Last week had a few more because there were was a top five for East and West, as well as the 450s.
The next thing I expect to hear is, “GuyB’s race photos were a lot better when ML was at Vital.”

In the meantime, we’ve been expanding our staff. We added Sean Klinger last summer, and have a new hire that will show up in the coming months.
