Not all the rules. There's no homologation rule for instance, so teams can try new things.

The throttle body isn't above the shock mount like the Honda, so not a "downdraft" per se.

But they are making the intake straighter correct?

I wonder what's inside that throttle body? Could it be a genius copy? The suspension sensor on those 52's makes me think they are coming to production after 10 years, yipee!

The Kawasaki having the fork "sensors" sure looks suspiciously like the old air equalizers.

The Honda having a clutch "sensor" makes little sense? A automated actuator to enhance shifting would...

It makes such a huge difference having Michael behind the camera (it was you wasn't it?) and knowing exactly what to look for and putting the old and new right next to each other! World class investigative reporting and fact finding right there. I'm sure it helps that you have a great relationship that they let you get close. It reminds me of the old days of Works bikes and GP exotica. Awesome job Vital!

A little over 20 of the photos were from GuyB (the on the track stuff, profile shots and a couple bike shots). So the majority of this one was me...I don't hit all the races so when I do, I try to go a little nuts with Pit Bits.

The throttle body is a different design that the genius. Same peinciple by making the throttle body totally open at wide open...but different design to accomplish it.

Cosmetically speaking, JGR really jacked up what I think is the best looking bike...stock, at least. The18 RMZ450 is a thing of beauty. JGR did away with the blue seat which REALLY hurts it, imo. It's never bad to have too many sponsors but I do wish JGR would work on the looks of their bikes. It's just cluttered and again losing the blue seat was a mistake.

Just my opinion.

So they've only changed the cylinder head on it? I've tried to spot any differences to lower engine but can't see any. As far as I can tell there's no difference to frame, all mounting points look identical placement to me with just a downward swept engine hanger to meet lower cylinder. Saying that they'll have had to of alter shock mount I guess.

Michael, I absolutely LOVE your tech insights, especially if you compare it to what we get here in the french media, which, for the most part, is a list of the stickers you find on the bike.
Great work as usual!
