Highland park is pretty good. That's where I usually ride. It lies west of atlanta.

There used to be a lot of places to ride, unfortunately a lot have closed. There still are some good tracks around - check out Moto VIP (can find them on Facebook), Silver Dollar MX occasionally has open practices, though they just had a race this past weekend so they may not ride for a bit. Fannin County mx in Blue Ridge was always fun, though I haven't been there in over 5 years. He still posts regular updates on Facebook as well and the track looks good. Where are you staying in GA? Depending on your location there may be some tracks in surrounding states that aren't too far of a drive.

Highland park has some gnarly trails. They have something for everyone trails wise, with some decent mx tracks but nothing to write home about.

Aside from Highland Park, you've got Calhoun SX and the track in Shannon in the same general area. Durhamtown a little further south. In Alabama you got Monster Mountain and Sand Mountain. I've heard good things about A Place to Ride. Idk if they're still open?
If you want to try some racing check the SORCS and SETRA schedule for hare scrambles.
Suzuki BIG series and Thor MEGA series are popular, although I don't think those series are going in March.

Is the Highland Park area very safe? I heard it was a sketchy area but that might not be true.

Have no idea where you heard that. I’ve been there a hundred times and never ever ever ever thought that, ever. Ever.

Esom hill has a bad reputation and it deserves it. Cedartown in general isnt that great. But you'll be fine at Highland, I've been hundreds of times and never had my stuff touched. Nobody goes in there that ain't also riding.

If you are wanting to ride during the week, there are a few options, but I would say Monster Mtn, Highland Park, and War Eagle are your best bets within a couple hours

There is also Durhamtown in Georgia. Cool place! I went one time and it rained the whole time so I never actually rode but it’s got a few tracks, tons of trails, pro shop and rental cabins. The Alabama tracks listed above are awesome too. Monster Mountain is sick!

Edit: I just saw you’ve already been there

I heard that from a misinformed buddy.

Great to know. We want to try that place sometime. Thanks!

It's pretty much straight west from Marietta/North Atlanta in Cedartown.

Ramrod. If you do come down, let me know and I’ll show you around Highland Park. Hell, I’ll even pay your entry fee.

I seriously doubt you will find a more well run, safe, and organized facility anywhere.

They do a fantastic job of nearly everything. Would love to see them put work into the MX tracks, but I understand why they leave them the way they do. They arent bad, just mind as well be pavement.

If the trails are wet, the tracks are generally great. If the trails are good, the tracks are a giant dust bowl. I still ride them though!

"A Place to Ride" calls themselves "Scrub'n Dirt" now. They are still open. I haven't ridden there in a couple of years, but I still follow them on Insta. One of my favorite tracks. Safe layout, and good dirt.

I can second Scrub'n Dirt, good soil, fun layout. Other than that, if you can get to Echeconee or Silver Dollar, do that. I'd also make the journey over to Monster Mountain if you want world class riding.

I’ve only been once. But it is in the boonies. I haven’t heard of any bikes getting stolen. If I was spending the night there I would lock my bikes up and take a wheel or 2 off for sure. You never know.
