In his interview on Racer X he stated he didn't feel like he would be ready for the 450 if he was to get pushed out of the class if he wins a second straight championship next season. He stated that the US would be an option. What is the possibility of this happening? How will he fare in Supercross? How good could he be in the US?

Forcing someone into MXGP at 18 years of age would be the stupidest F you could possibly do.
Basically punishing him for being so good so early
MX2: Minimum age of riders: 15 years;
maximum age: 23 years
The maximum age limit of 23 years for riders in the MX2
class is not applicable to women riders
Riders who have won two FIM MX2 World
Championships or reached the age of 23 are no longer
eligible to participate in the MX2 class
• Riders must have an FIM World Championship licence
very you talents like Prado will be forced to move up at age of 18 ...
the age young kids go pro in the USA if i"m right
i hope they change this for Prado , as i recall they did it for Herlings years ago ..
if not , i cant see Prado make the switch to a 450 at age of 18 so he makes the jump to AMA and so he should

I think if you win a world title twice you probably do have the beating of the others. Being forced up is a hard pill to swallow and especially if he repeats next year. Thing is age doesn't really matter at that level IMO, the kid has been racing for ever and would be fine on a 450 if he had to. That or he is lost to the AMA which would be a shame.
I'm not sure if I think it's fair or not regardless of age. I'm on the fence and can see both sides easily, partly through experiencing it personally in Mtb.
i think deCarli would love to see Prado take Cairoli'spot in the team and stay in MXGP for future ..
Prado: This change has been a really good change. I see things a lot different than before, and I am not sure I can find a team like this, with such a family feeling. They treat me since day one, unbelievable. So, this maybe effect my thoughts on coming seasons, or going to America. Its going to be difficult to find a team that cares so much about me. Of course, I would like to try and race supercross, but I am really comfortable right now.
