In regards to Danny Chandler, how exactly is his nickname spelled?

I always thought it was "Magoo", like the old cartoon character.

Recently Ive been reading some back issues of Transworld, RacerX, etc., and Ive noticed it spelled as "McGoo".

Not really important in the grand scheme of things, I guess, but just curious if I have been saying it wrong all these years.

Just for grins, I typed 'McGoo' and "Transworld MX' into google. Apparently Harold 'McGoo' Gruther was one of the partners at Universal MX.

Here's the link. Oh, and guess who wrote the article?

Magoo was hilarious at the MXoN. Did anyone catch his 'Budds Crock' comment when they interviewed him on the podium? (I understand that Danny is a strong advocate for handicapped accessibility.) A friend of mine (who knows Danny) and a few others had to actually strap him into his chair with track banners and carry him down the hill to the podium area!

Quite a character - and a true moto legend.

my first recollection is in a 76 mxa with a wild ass photo of him wheelying an RM125 and the caption said something like "the wildest rider to hit the national circuit since Jimmy Ellis smoothed out".

Instant role model... " title="Laughing">
