If you attended national championship amateur or professional races in the ‘80s and ‘90s, chances are you met Dr. Medsker. The guy simply loved motocross. Dr. Medsker’s son posted the following this morning about his father.

This morning my father
Dr. Dennis (Doc) Medsker passed away due to a major stroke. My brothers and I are doing the best we can to inform all of you that he has worked with and touched over the years. We will see what we can do about having a safe service due to this Covid 19 situation if at all possible. Know that he passed peacefully in his sleep and in his last days he was in good spirits.
My dad was many things throughout his lifetime. He was a pilot from a young age and served in the Air National Guard and Air Force. He flow in Vietnam with the Airlift Command and loved aviation.
He graduated from AASU and was on the gymnastics team where he was selected to go to the Olympics as an exhibitionist for the trampoline.
He then studied at Palmer Chiropractic College and got his doctorate in Chiropractics. He practiced in Atlanta for a short time and met Billy Liles and Gary Bailey and his love for medicine & competition combined and the rest was history. He bought a traveling clinic and set it up at the motocross events all over the nation, so he could work on many of you and your families. He was very passionate about motocross & fixing people and it was what truly made him tick. He loved you all and would want you to know that he is fine and going on his next journey. Until then, God speed.
Rest in peace dad.

I remember the "race tune up" he gave me at Loretta's one year. My back had a slight injury from a crash and he felt the exact spot and worked it out. I slept pain free for the first time in a long while! RIP Doc!

So very sorry to hear this and condolences to the Medsker family. Dennis was a uniquely talented individual and a real pleasure to be around. In the same breath he could discuss flight characteristics of the C-47 and why your neck hurts because of what you did to your feet.

Dennis had an interest in a wide range of topics, was quick with a laugh and genuinely liked people. He certainly liked racing and racers.

R.I.P Dennis, and thanks for your time on the circuit with us. It was fun.

Sorry for your loss. My condolences.

Did Dennis go to the MXdN at Maggiora in ‘86?

Doc was a really nice guy and he helped my dad out a lot when he was dealing with heart issues. He was a big part of American motocross back in the day, but I had no idea he served as a pilot for our country in Vietnam. I would have loved to have talked to him about those days! Godspeed, Doc.

Doc was the person that got me to the starting line at LL's when I went there one year and hurt my back real bad during practice. He would have me come to him before each moto and do a " tune up". With out his help I would not have been able to ride at all.
He will be missed!
