Really??? Incant imagine anyone is concerned with the possibility of Tomac going on a run being 50 points down..... He would literally have tonwin every race this SX season from here on out AND have a little luck on his side in the way of REALLY bad finishes by ALL of the title contenders. Not to say it isn't impossible but Jesus Ralph ..... He keeps screaming about it after Eli won the second Moto ... A bit presumptions isn't it??

What annoys me about it is the context he's using "Tomac could go on a run!!!" Talking about him as if he wasn't 50 points down and is still somewhat in the title hunt ...which is isn't at all at the moment and it's possible but a serious long shot.

And how about Hill? Dam dude

How about Roczen? Is he even here tonight??

Someone posted a picture in another thread of the final season results from last year and I think he finished 60 to 70 pts over Marvin who was in third. Its really not out of the question as we're only in round 3.

Yes I was I’ve been around sport for long time started back in the Stanton era and I’ve watch Supercross religiously ever since but this is on another level of ridiculousness and even Ricky had to correct him and remind him about the terrible point deficit it’s just annoying to listen to him say that shit because it’s almost like he doesn’t even remember the fact that you live so far down and it’s just ridiculous to hear him talk about it like I said above in the context that he somehow in the hot

I realize that but to me it seems like it’s easier to win a title by 50 points then to start out 50 points behind and try to Claw his way back to the top and ultimately take the points lead to many things can set him back and continue to add those points deficit making it a chasm impossible to bridge. Even one more bad finished over the next 14 rounds would absolutely buried him and any chance at all so yeah he’d have to be 100% flawless and went every round to have a shot in the dark I think

The reason being is because riders will have a different mental mindset towards him and his deficit you’ll be given a wide berth to go on a run because they won’t be concerned with him getting anywhere near there. Sleep if I say Jason Anderson or Riczen manage a patient second at every round going forward. It takes a huge amount of pressure off the other legitimate title contenders therefore they’re more than willing to manage the championship and the points lead getting second and third place finishes without having to put any risk forward where is Tomac will need to go balls to the wall 110% at every round for 14 rounds and if you seriously think there’s no chance he won’t make any mistakes at all for the rest of the season I big to differ

I mean he’s the tv announcer it’s his job to make the race sound exciting. He’s doing his job.

Just like the way he was trying to sell the 450 race last year in Vegas when Tomac when bunchin em up.

He won 9 mains last year with Dungey in the field. The only guy in my mind that will be there in the end is Anderson. Tomac for sure has shot if he reels off ten more mains and Anderson has a bad race or two. Not out of the question at all.

Saying it was intentional is giving Ralph too much credit.

He's 43 points back with 14 races to go. He gained 5 points over Anderson tonight. He has very poor odds but it is possible.

After the first two rounds it wasn't expected for Eli to be in contention at A2. And he comes out and wins.

How do you go from not being able to ride and 7 days later you win? Impressive.

I don't see what Ralph is doing wrong. Dungey is not there anymore so from the fact any rider in the field right now can have bad nights ! I don't see anderson as a consistent rider and you will see he will not keep on two wheels all season long. We saw it with roczen last night, he finished 9th. So tomac still has a shot to this title IMO

I can’t stand Ralph and Jeff as broadcasters. They seem like cool guys especially Jeff but every rider has a flaw and that’s all the talk about, do you have many times a night they bring up Roczens arm? Eli got passed by Anderson for the lead and Ralph automatically asked the question if Tomac could even keep the pace after he just won the race before it.

Why do guys even pay attention to what they say? Just watch the race and tune them out.

Will he say the same about Marvin ( Red Bull ) if he starts a win streak? Or just Eli ( monster ) ?

He is doing his job to build a dramatic landscape behind and during the race.

That said ET chances are thin, BUT it's a long season and it's very possible top points guys get a couple DNFs .( crash or mechanical). I am not counting ET out at all. Too much talent, and it's a damm crazy sport. Anything can still happen.

I think Ralph is fine. Jeff is the big problem in my opinion. It baffles me how he lacks to point out so many easy observations. Ralph sets him up with soft balls, and Jeff just misses them. A lot of dead air. Jeff doesn't seem to know much about a lot of the riders especially the ones outside of the top ten. Either that, or he'd just doesn't share this info. Blair would be a huge improvement over Jeff.

I'd say it's more than possible he can win. There are like 4 to 5 genuine winners, a few triple crown rounds that just showed us Seely/Brayton/Peick/JG etc are legimately more of an issue...

Then, he's proven he can stomp everyone over and again and more to the point, there isn't anyone in the field that has proven they can last a season... in fact barring Anderson (Mr Consistent) they'd basically have to win as much as him.

Assuming Eli is back, unless Kenny miraculously wakes up or JA does something he never has, I'd say we're till Vegas.

"And here with Jenny, we have the multi-time champ, Ricky Carmichael" (cuts to Ryan Dungey)

You seem to forget that none of these current top dogs are known for consistency. Dungey is gone. That element of unbelievable consistency is gone.

Tomac could go on a tear. Anderson could take a 15th or DNF. Roczen could do the same. It's wide open right now. Anderson is just in the best position right now. He controls his own destiny.

If anything last night showed Anderson's maturity. Bad starts, didn't panic and managed a good result overall. That should have the field worried.
1/21/2018 8:05am
Has Kenny ever been consistent in SX? What about Anderson? MM? Yes I don’t think he will comeback from it buttttt there is always a chance. I think JA will have a few bad races as well as Kenny like we saw yesterday. I think tomac can win another 10 races

Didn’t tomac come back from 30 points with 9 or 10 rounds to go? Now he’s got 14 rounds to do it. Very hard but not impossible

True.
He could go on a run. And that's bad news for the others.

He's only 43 points behind the guy that he beat by 81 points last season.
