Has anyone ever done the math? Just a hunch, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Reed has accumulated the most MX and SX points combined. Maybe Jason Wiegant or Matthes could do the math.

Hell no. Not even close. Mike Larroco still has more SX starts than Reed, not to mention that Mike raced outdoors every year. Reed hasn’t hardly raced outdoors at all in the last 10 years. He raced the 2009 season and a handful since. He didn’t race outdoors at all in 2007-2008.

No debating the outdoor starts of The Rock. Reed was on the podium in SX for damn near a decade so i’d like to see how the math shakes out.

Those two would screw the stats up. Stats are not their strong point. Reeds outdoor stats would hurt. Only made four full seasons when he was on the gas. 2002 - 04 and 2009. Maybe his SX could make it up. Vault would make it easy.

I’d be willing to bet Carmichael still has more points than Reed and Larroco.

I KNEW RC and Larroco had more than Chad Reed. Chad just hasn’t really done shit outdoors in his career.

Yeah, only won a championship. What a loser...

Not to mention he was laying waste to Dungey and Villopoto up until the Round 7 "Chadapult" in 2011. Still finished out the season in 3rd place in the points, then won a moto at the MXDN a few weeks later.

Yeah, really? Where was he in 04,05,06,07,08,10, 12,13,14,15........??? Compared to RC, Windham, Larroco, RV, Dungey, Emig, Stanton, Hannah, Johnson, Ward.....etc I think it’s safe to say CR fell a little short outdoors.

Nice! The Rock crushed them. IMO that makes him one of the greats despite no SX title.

This is actually pretty interesting! Now I'm curious but too lazy to actually do the work to find out who has the most AMA MX/SX points combined.

Oh, fell a little short. Thought you said "hasn't really done shit." My mistake.

Edit: Also he raced 04, 05, and 06...

This might be a record Chad never loses. I don’t see any future riders with the desire Chad has to put 15 competitive years into a SX career.

When you look at it, he really hasn’t. Who did he really beat in any of his 3 big bike titles? Windham was his toughest competition. Reed has never beat anyone with a Title. That is the only * on his legacy in the sport.

I would like to see him get in shape and running top 10 this year.

His podium percentage was just insane for a lot of years. Sucks to see it drop nowadays, it was truly impressive.

I agree. It will be damn tough to beat if anyone wants to maķe a run at it. He's still out there this year and he's said it before that he'll be there in 2019.

To top things off he has a very good podium percentage which equals to a lot of points. Those podiums don't come easy either. They don't just hand them out.
