Last month so many were name calling those who were hopeful for racing in the near future. We are less than a week away from it and thankfully they were wrong. Racing is back!

Really wonder what this thread's purpose is...
Dividing the world a little more?

Genuinely wondered what happened to those thoughts more than anything. Anyone with a hint of optimism was shouted down repeatedly in April.

I'm the type that is appreciative for whatever it is that I have......no matter what circumstance it applies to. I honestly didn't think we would see SX return this year, but was hopeful we could at least see some Moto by the end of the year. Our entire lives in some way, shape, or form have been turned upside down by this whole mess, thank God the wheels of normality are starting to turn again! We may never see the old norm we always knew in day to day, but at least we can watch the best in the world again.......it's time. Let's go racing.

I was in the mindset that racing was not happening until the fall at the earliest. But more and more people legitimately DGAF and that has lead to where we are at to have racing start on May 31. Good or bad is still to be found out though because it’s not like the virus is miraculously not here anymore.

I didn't think it'd be coming back, though I'm glad it is. Also though, just because it is going on, doesn't mean it should be. I also can't say that I know whether it should or shouldn't for sure. I'll just sit back and enjoy though, that I absolutely know for sure.

What are the rules if a rider tests positive?

Quarantined for 2 weeks before retesting, rider can have private testing done during this time.

Some people will pick the most extreme angle and convince themselves they are right so anyone who disagrees with them is idiotic. I wish I saved all the "We won't be racing until 2021" comments.

I wouldn't be surprised if things got cancelled again within the next few months. We are working toward reopening, which is good, but we have to be prepared to shut down again with another wave of deaths. It's about controlling the flow so things don't overwhelm the system all at once.

Not the feeling I got.
Happy to see some racing, but in all honesty, I'm surprised and not so sure it's such a great idea...
The disease is still out there...
The good balance between normal life and protection in such unusual circumstances is hard to find anyways, especially when you face something new...

Still I don't get the point of your topic.
Looking for a few "Woah, Jason, you were sooo right on this one, you're the man"?
Well, you had a chance out of two...
Laughing

Glad you were right, for now, though.

EDIT: The first 20 seconds of this video made me want to buy some wheels from Dubya.

I feel like no one has talked about this, but I wonder how many people there for the race, whether it be a rider, mechanic, track crew etc., will test positive for covid. I mean with I believe up to 900 people allowed in, coming from all over the country, I feel at least a few are bound to test positive. It'd be crazy of it's a key person too. For example if it's one of the top riders, a top riders mechanic, or one of the broadcast crew.

The UFC had less than 10 athletes and had a positive....I imagine there will be a few out of a couple hundred.

I am just happy to see supercross again in any capacity. I’m hoping everyone is as safe as they can be and that they’re all healthy and able to compete (semi) comfortably.

I'll be honest, I was one of those that didn't expect any racing at all until at least September.

Very pleased to be wrong in this case.

I'm so over the debating and politicizing of this pandemic (and I'm Canadian). There is no roadmap, we won't know if we made the right decisions until years from now. I am happy that SX has found a way to return to racing. I hope it goes well and is successful for all involved. I was not very optimistic in March, and I still think we have some hard days ahead of us globally, but the efforts we made globally in March and April have helped immensely.
