Would you go? How much would you pay? You would get approx 15 minutes per bike. Would you pay less or the same if you had to also pay a track entry fee?

Would it be worth $250 for you to ride all 6 brand new bikes?

I understand that manufacturers do free ride days, but you don't get to ride all the bikes the same day.

I feel like this has been asked before.

But, it would be nice. Idk about $250. $100 and I'd be in.

$250 is more than fair, might save ya from a 8000 mistake.

It’s a great idea. Not sure I would have spent $250, just a gut feeling that seems high. Perhaps $175-$220 for all 6. Offer $40 per bike as an option for those that either are not interested in all 6, or have a budget of $80-$120, or whatever. Couple minutes to set sag, adjust ergos and then 15 min of track time.

I like the $40 per bike idea. I wouldn't be interested in a husky since I don’t have a dealer close. This would be tough to do with only six bikes and 30 or more people in line.

Hell I have paid $100 to demo a mountain bike for a day

I’d pay 300.

If I was a dealer I would make damn sure my bike was there, for free. That is what demos are for. They would not have to be stock either, if the shop has done setup no problem bring it. If I was to pay for it, I'd expect a lap time chart. $100 is plenty to organize something like this, and I'd expect to have Track and Trail available . Give me 2 laps Off Road and 5 laps on the track on each bike, and bring Off Road bikes too. Appointments would be required due to limited time. Pick your top 5 bikes for the day, not all necessarily?

I've considered organizing something like this near Austin for the Fall. Hmm
We could also video and photo it and publish results.

It would be limited to 24 people. 6 people/ 2 hours. 15 minutes per bike with 5 minutes to swap bikes tough to keep on schedule if you have people just riding 1,2, 4 bikes and not all 6.

I'm not a dealer haha. If I were to do this, I would be buying all 6 bikes out of pocket, paying for tires, oil changes, gas, damages, etc.

But, this isn't a bad idea, to maybe work with local dealers to bring the bikes out

Sign me up. I will pay the track entry fee also and ride my own bike after I ride the 6

Would only work if it was put on by a dealer, not the OEMS themselves. Some OEMs would probably be wasting their time.

You would also have to understand that someone people would want a lot more time on certain bike and a lot less on another.

Your best bet would be catch ML when he's at the track with his new collection

Honestly, if it is to be run as a business, i dont see the company making any money.. If this service was offered at $100(which i think would be the price point you would need to hit to get alot of traction), you would need 600 riders to participate to make your initial 60k back. And that doesnt include services which by quick math in my head, would put the bikes at 150 hours.. That would mean the bikes would need alot of work to stay operable.. say you do a top end only at 100 hours... $600x6 bikes = 3,600, oil changes every 10 hours at a cost of $25 each time, that would be roughly $2,250-2500. that brings the total investment with nothing else(chains, chain guides, rollers, sprockets, clutches,Bars(somebody is bound to bend them), sub frames etc.) Tires every 20 hours 8 tire changes at $150 a piece, is about $7,000..

Just doesnt make sense financially. thats about 75K in very minimal costs or am i mistaken?

you're close. I figured 10 days of riding. 8 hours each day = 80 hours.

4 sets of tires =$675
20 oil changes = $400
4 Air Filters = $100
2 sets Chain/Sprockets =$150
2 sets of grips = $50
Set of plastics = $175
6 Levers = $50
Gas = $400

Total cost for each bike = $2000

I figured I'd have to charge $250 per rider for 6 bikes, 24 riders per day, 10 ride days, to make it worth it. Have to set some of that aside for expected accidents.

Thats if I can sell 6 bikes with 80 hours for $5,500 each when its done.

Love the enthusiasm - but can't help but think of the nearly unlimited amount of misc ancillary costs involved. Breaking even, and the opportunity cost of tying up the cash flow alone, just makes it feel like wishful thinking. I hope you can figure it out to where I'm wrong - it's a way cool idea

I think this type of thing only works if the OEMs front the bikes.

I like the idea! At $250, for all 6 bikes, that's really a great deal. Where else can you do that for that price? Hell, I'll spend that on a race weekend sometimes, and I still have to own the bike! I can't believe anyone in the market for a new 450 wouldn't pounce on the opportunity.

I’d pay $50/bike for 20min on each.

I have always Dreamed/ fantasized/ wished that this was an option , but I'm not sure if I could afford $250 , I think it's a fair amount but it's a lot for me, and I would likely wish I could do but not do it.

I wouldn’t pay a fucking thing. Not for an 8k toy. Now if they offered a 250 credit towards a purchase of a bike, and it comes out as a wash, sure.

Yamaha and KTM already do this at many local tracks and trails. Any other manufacturer that isn’t doing this are absolute fools.
