I'm toying with selling my never ridden since restored/rebuilt 2000 CR250. New engine with maybe 5 minutes of field riding to seat the rings, new OEM plastics, new just about everything. Hell, it even has the OEM warning stickers on the new OEM plastics. Shroud graphics are not OEM. Robert Reynard did the rebuild and we replaced everything in the engine, bottom and top.

I know this is a "loaded post" and most will respond "tree fiddy" but I'm hoping some might offer useful, accurate pricing guidance rather than the old "It's worth whatever somebody will pay for it".

Realistically, $2500. In today's Covid/inflated market you could get $3500. That chain doesn't owe you a cent. She's pretty worn.

In my area $2500-3000. I’m near Seattle.
I dropped a few pennies on my 01 CR 250. Knowing I’ll never get what I put into it, I decided long ago it was better to hold onto it rather than take a huge loss.

It's been a number of years since I went thru the bike but I thought I put new chain and sprockets. I need to look tonight. Magnifying the picture makes it look like your eyes are better than my memory...

I sold my 2000 over a year ago. Went through it top to bottom. Only got 2800$ for it and it looked brand new. Still wish I had it to this day

If you got $2,800 a year ago I’d think the OP could get $4k today. That’s just based off my local classifieds and the “Are moto sales booming?” thread here. We’re currently in a crazy seller’s market.

Shame it’s not in the UK! You’d get $4500 for that here no problem right now.
There are bikes that need a complete tear down and rebuild selling for around $3500 no problem.

If you want to sell it, SELL IT NOW. Used bike values are better than they have been in a long, long time. Here are the reasons why:

-People have (had) stimulus checks.
-The public couldn't go to the beach, bar, or concerts, and they have to spend their money somehow. Now, venues are closing all over the place again.
-Dealers have nearly sold out of all their dirt inventory, and the manufacturers are scrambling to catch up with demand. It may be months before they can.

For all these reasons, used bikes are hot right now. They are selling at auction for more than 100% of trade-in value.

I'd think low-mid $3ks, maybe if it looks really clean in person and has a title.

I agree with Falcon. BUT if you put a set of forks on from a 2005+ CR250 (brake caliper carrier needed), it transforms these bikes into awesome. Seriously, it feels like you put on a set of factory forks, compared to the stockers, even revalved stockers. You may regret selling it!

Unless you REALLY need the cash, why sell? Keep it and enjoy the bike. Will probably be worth more as a collectors item down the line.

I have a new 01 CR250R that I consider sweet enough to keep indoors. Awesome bikes!

Too many bikes. I don't need the cash, I need the space...
