Seat Covers

Edited Date/Time 1/22/2019 12:50am
With so many different companies making seat covers now. What is the best out there for the best price? Got a new graphic kit this year so i need a new seat cover to match. Used guts last year and liked it. Guts is at $63 with the pulp discount. What are some other good deals out there?

I bought the throttle jockey Honda seat cover for my cr250, after give or take 30 hours half of the lettering is now gone and the stitches on one side has given up, bought a Thrillseekers for my 450 but im still waiting for it to show up

I have SDG on both of my bikes and they are real nice. Cool people too. Had a Motoseat recently as well and that was a good cover. Price wise they are comparable to what you quoted from Guts.

I got the Gutts racing non-ribbed seat. it is really nice. I would highly recommend. I really like the phantom foam also. with the pulp discount, I think it was 200 for a complete seat.

Traction MX...... best in the game by far. Hand made in the USA to your specs, you can even choose the color of your stitching!!!!

I'm not super pumped on how a guts cover fit. That thing will not go tight and wrinkles pull out no matter what I do.

I had one made that had issues and was baggy on a complete seat with phantom foam. Made sloppy. Ribs crooked and not parallel/straight. Set it back they made a new one. It's better, but it still has some wrinkles. The ribs are not as crooked as the last either. If you are any kind of OCD stay away. Foam is amazing unless it has holes in it. They replaced that also. They did take care of me, but I'm not impressed with the craftsmanship. I can post pictures of need be. Just my experience.

Silicone covers havent made it to the USA yet?

In Sweden we have cover brands Selab and Onegripper, made of silicone with a knotty surface which has an insane grip. Days of having to hold on to your handle bars out of the corners when you're sitting down is over...

most all of them are custom made in the usa, so thats an equal variable for the most part.

pro and con to all the different materials used. my favorite at the moment is guts. i like the grip/material feel the most. its harder to install/lay flat/no wrinkles though than a thinner/more pliable material like motoseat uses.

my next few seats will be guts with that being said...

Been using Motoseat for many years,.Travis and his team are great supporters of the sport along with supporting local race organizations.

Black gripper w/ Kevlar reinforced side panels, if you wear knee braces the Kevlar material really holds up knee brace abuse.

Motoseat, he makes, or at least used to make quite a few of them for the factory bikes. Top notch quality and fast turn around.

I do like the texture of the Motoseat a bit more. It's softer and more pliable. The Guts cover is nice and tough but kind of stiff when it's cold. SDG makes a very easy to install cover. The material is very stretchy

Have you used them a lot? Feels like everybody that are raving about how good they are just happen to be sponsored.

Thrill Seekers make the BEST seat cover IMO. Made in USA
SDG makes the worst seat covers, unless your into the saggy lose look.
I will say that SDG has hands done the hardest tall seat I have ever owned, definately GUTS foam next time.

I've had good luck with moto seat. My last guts cover faded quickly.
I've used Guts racing and motoseat both , and both of them are extremely good. Have never had an issue with either company , and they make a really good product. Getting ready to place another order through Guts here in the next day or two.

Honestly don’t see how SDG could be considered the worst. Mine have held up really well and aren’t saggy at all.

My experience as well, I purchased a cover and foam in the killer Black Friday sale they had. The seam at the front of the seat was not straight and was tweaking my OCD. I sent it back for them to fix/install and it came out OK, but on the one side the foam is kinda wider/stick out on the one side.

They installed and shipped back for free, so that was cool.
