I already have a 125cc and I am thinking about getting a 450. I will most likely still keep the 125 for moto. But I was thinking between a 450 or a 250f. I would mostly use it for high speed desert riding and dunes, with the occasional moto session. I just don’t know if it would be a good idea. I have ridden a hond crf450x and loved how smooth the power was, but I don’t know if modern FI bikes are that smooth on the power

I get where you are coming from with the 250 2t. But it’s a pain in the ass to mix gas at the station during the middle of a ride (no big deal when I have a jug) but when I don’t have a jug with me it’s a complete guessing game.

I just bought a 2018 CRF450 and it reminds me of a CR500 power wise, nothing smooth about it. It hits HARD and pulls forever...has zero flywheel weight and stalls like a 125. Fun as hell though. Sold my KX250f, that bike was just boring to ride. Go fo fiddy.

He actually linked a 500 two smoke, haha.

But yeah, I wouldn't be afraid of a 450. If you're just gonna be hauling ass around the desert for the most part, maybe look for a 2008 CRF 450. Someone will correct me, i'm sure, but I think that was a great year CRF 450 engine.

Don’t be scared, and at your size don’t buy a 250 especially for goofing off in the dunes

Second the 450. Have about 2 hours on my 18 CRF 450 and I am loving it. You will have no regrets.

I weigh 155 and have no issues with the 450 on an MX track. Get the 450.

Put the lean coupler on if it isn't yet. It'll give it some more get up and go!
