Supercrosslive TV Auto Renewed and Refusing to Refund

To my surprise I see a charge for Supercrosslive tv for $129.99 on my credit card on September 14. I did not buy a pass for this season nor did i sign up for any auto renewal from last season.

I email them notifying them of this and that i want it cancelled and refunded and this is their reply:

"Thank you for contacting Supercross Live Customer Support.

You signed up for Supercross Live Video Pass in January 2019, which auto-renewed for the new season. We sent you several e-mails in August & September regarding the renewal, so we are confident subscribers knew this was forthcoming. Unfortunately, the grace period for a refund has expired now.

Please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Very pissed off about this and it looks like i'll have to contact my credit card company. I did not get any email from them about auto renewal nor have i logged in because i didnt even know I had it. Any other Canadians run into this?

Noticed a nice little charge on my cc as well.

Definitely didn’t receive any email advising the auto renew. No doubt it’s buried in the terms and conditions somewhere, but it’s still a greasy stunt to pull.

I unsubscribed so the same thing doesn't happen next year. I was caught off guard by it too.

I do "customer retention" for a living.

Tell them you are going to file a charge back and damn good chance they'll give you a refund. Nobody wants to deal with the hassle of a charge back and too many in a row will get you banned from merchant processors.

How did you unsubscribe?

I emailed them back telling them to cancel any renewal so this does not happen again and send me an email showing it's done but I have not got a reply back yet.

Still on hold now with credit card company to dispute it.

Does the $129 cover both series?

Dirty trick for sure, and then they flat out refuse to refund.

Monster Energy Cup and Supercross only. You do have access to watch previous seasons as well.

This. Charge it back.

I just got off the phone with Visa and they are going to charge it back, but it took some convincing. They said I may still get charged for it if the merchant can provide enough evidence that i knew about an auto renewal, it will take 30 days to confirm and close the case. And because of this they had to cancel my card and issue me a new one, now i have no credit card for 7 to 10 business days.

Thanks for this heads up reminder... I just turned my auto-renew off for NBC Gold... I 100% intend on buying the package again; but on my own terms. $89.99 for the entire SX & MX season was a no brainer... but wont be surprised at all if they increase the price of admission this year

Every app is auto renew. This is not a new, slimeball "trick". Use a credit card that expires within the calendar year, if it's an app you only want for the time being.

Yep same thing happened to me, i contacted my bank. I then emailed SX Live and asked what was going on. They sent me a report with the emails that they supposedly sent me....looks like it was in the fine print of one of the emails about MEC, not a stand alone email saying that i was going to be automatically renewed. The copy of the email that the sent me made no mention of how to "opt out". They mentioned that unfortunately i was past the "Grace period". Ive asked them what the grace period was?, when did it end and what did it mean in terms of a refund?.....of course ive heard nothing back. They may have got me this year...but they wont get me next year!! Its a low act.

I enjoyed my service last year but didn't know anything about "auto-renew". I just turned mine off, thanks for the heads up!

Thanks, just logged in and turned off auto-renew! I'm sure I'll get it again, but I will make that decision myself.

This thread reminded me to cancel my free 30-day trial of Netflix so it doesn't auto renew after the 30 days is up. Thanks!

Quite a few payment processors have the ability to auto update with the new card details when its issued.

Don't ask me how, but it happens.

That's good to know! I've used the old short stroke expiring card move for years. It's worked flawlessly so far. I'm going to have to decline auto renew from now on lol.

Just do a charge back on your card. 99% of the time the consumer wins.

I was filthy.
I did find the email it but the little bit about auto renew was right down the bottom.
Absolutely zero on the email subject to give you a clue
My bank said no way of getting money back.

It is, on NBC Sports Gold.

Supercrosslive.com TV pass is the one run by Feld for international users who can't get NBC Sports Gold due to their geographical location.

It's a slime ball tactic, that people like you just seem to accept as part of the game.

Settle down Chuck Norris. I'm not sure what you mean by "people like me". You have no idea who I am, other than a couple one liners on a chat board.

Hate to break it to people like you, but literally every monthly/yearly service provider does it. XM, Hulu, WWE, MLB, NFL.... So, you might as well accept it as part of the game.

It is not new, but it is most certainly slimeball. Auto renew with a price increase is especially egregious.

From the Menu in settings I believe. It actually wasn't letting me cancel it when I tried it through the app on my phone. Had to go through a desktop to cancel.
