Suzuki vs Kawasaki

7/12/2017 4:37pm
So looks like I'm going to get a 17' 450. My choice is Suzuki or Kawasaki. I will be converting the forks to spring so that doesn't matter. The thing I'm asking about the most is which one will can I put the most hours on stock. I'm thinking Suzuki but putting the question out to yall. Which one will last the longest in stock form?

Just wait for the 18 Rmz you won't even have to change the forks. In stock form unless you're a pro and riding the piss out of it I think it's pretty much of a muchness.

I've ridden both and prefer the KX. It felt much thinner and lighter. Handling wise they actually felt pretty similar. Engine on the Kawi is strong but super easy to ride. Have fun either way.

You want the lightest Japanese 450 or the heaviest one?

my RMZs have been rock solid reliable, but they are a nightmare to sell down the road.

Both great bikes, go to a local track offer up $50 for 5-10 laps on each bike, or find a friend that owns one. Probably not set up for you, but you can get an idea on each bike. Sucks those 2 brands don't do demo days,. Imo can't go wrong either bike. A few tweaks, they are good to go.

I have ridden the KXF a bit and the RMZ once....tough choice imho ....sorry but either one will do you well. Perhaps a very slight nod to the KXF for me.

may want to rethink the spring conversion, I for one have a 16 kx450f. love it. 17 the same with minor refinements. I am sending my suspension out for a revalve and asked vital for an opinion. check out the thread "opinion 15+ KX450F owners". most giys actuallt said they love their air now after a revalve.

I'd wait a short spell..... The Suzuki isn't here just yet, so riding one can't be done. The KX you could get a general feel for tomorrow if you had to. Wait to see a new RMZ, ask the dude who bought it for a quick spin. Go from there...... but, NOTHING handles like a Suzuki. That said, either one should make you happy. Congrats on the upcoming purchase!

I was referring to the new 18.... As for the 17, you could probably snag a new one dirt cheap. Or a 16, or a 15...,,

So the simple answer to the question you asked is : Suzuki.
You can put more hours on the yellow bike stock. They are super reliable......and pretty much as good as a 17 Kawi. There you go. Enjoy

I have a 16 Kawi and love it. But the RMZ is a good bike too. Can't go wrong with either one. Just pick the one you like the most.

The suzuki is not even close to as updated as the kawi. Peopel say pick your color but youre choosing a bike thats old and heavy vs the new one. The suzuki is comparable to a '15 or older kawasaki. Even then the zook was blown out of the water.

But both are good enough for 95% people in the world to ride stock.

Do you like a quick turning bike (Suzuki) or a stable one (Kawasaki) ?
