It is sure different looking I'm getting early 80's like lambo or delorean. It's even made from stainless steel body panels. Origami?

Lots of cool features and would definitely turn heads. It's so different looking, I don't think it's fair to call it ugly though. I like the air ride and ramp.

For the record, I don't love the design, but I like that it may encourage other manufacturers to get more creative with their own designs.

Good car.
But.

That designer has to be buried.
Alive.

What I don't get is where they think the energy will go in a crash if the front of the car doesn't give in, i.e. no crumple zone

The fact they loaded up a quad and not a two wheel panty dropper, is all you need to know about this truck.

I'm thoroughly convinced if that was a toy car it would wind up in the ER stuck up someones ass. They should just go ahead and put a red cross on it.

Pretty impressive and fast for $39K. Not the best looking by far though.

Watch the Tesla intro video where company owner Elon Musk gets a friend to throw a steel ball at supposedly bulletproof window and it almost goes right threw glass.LaughingLaughingBlush

It’s obviously still in its initial phase and I’m sure there will be a redesign before it comes to market. Impressive in a lot of ways, bleak in others. Couple of body lines in those massive panels would help tremendously. The amount of Tesla’s running around the Northern Ohio area is staggering.

There’s a reason Ford pulled its entire passenger car line earlier this year, E is coming to production sooner than later.

Now mind you, I saw this today, and damn I want one:

It's a shame they went with such a left-field design because based on specs and features alone, it's a great truck. Plus with a starting price under $40k, they could've really sold well. I'm a big Tesla fan and I wouldn't even want to own it, let alone the rural blue collar All American F150 driving market they're trying to break into.

I'm more interested in the fact they developed an electric quad, because one would have to assume they've been dabbling in dirt bikes as well...

When I first saw it on a TV commercial, I thought they were driving something covered in boxes to hide it. Kind of a teaser thing as it was to officially launch the next day, To my dismay it was the actual truck I saw. LOL

I would like Robby Gordon to get one and put a Chevy 350 in it for class 8.

The Tesla cars rate so high on safety that they’re off the charts used to measure other vehicles. I’m sure this will be the same.

I’m surprised by the laughs all around the internet. I don’t know why anyone doubts this guy. Version 1 will be great and everything that follows will be better.

Tesla and other Musk companies revolutionize their industries. If you’re going to actually think different you’re going to come out with products that are different.

My wife, who is much smarter than I am and who invested in Tesla at $20 something dollars per share took one look and said, “You know that’s so he can drive around on Mars, right? Everything he does is so he can live on Mars.” (Tesla, Space X, Solar City, The Boring Company)

If Mr Tesla were smart, he would hire Robby Gordon to win the 1000 with it with Hailie as the driver.

It's very fair to call it ugly.

So does the stainless steel exterior mean I get to just drive like an asshole now and not pay attention in parking lots when I back up? Grinning

I think it's close minded. If it's suppose to look like a typical F150, than yeah it's ugly but it's not attempting to look like your conventional modern truck. I think it looks weird but cool in a way. There's plenty of room in the market for different looking stuff.

Of course looks are always subjective so you can most definitely think it is ugly but I just think it looks kinda badass because it's not suppose to look like your conventional truck. If I was in the market for a truck, I wouldn't be interested in this, I'd much rather something more traditional but I still think it's a cool concept.

It’s because the generation that is obsessed with social media loves the mob mentality. They’re all “yee yee trucks financed at 21% with 0 dollars in the bank and my girlfriend sells cat shampoo” type of people.

Going to be a neat Revolution to experience and watch. Musk is about to write history.

I’ve read both sides of that argument. I could see the x over and mid sized making a larger push, so I don’t disagree, but I think you’ll be surprised what’s coming in the next year....

This makes me wonder what a hypothetical Lamborghini truck might look like.Guarantee everyone would call it ugly as well (because trucks are meant for good ol' boys on the farm) but there's something about purpose built engineering that makes me almost admire the looks. I've always kinda been a contrarian though, so I'm not even surprised I'm caught in this debate. Grinning
