I think we now know there is a Bradshaw Curse out there.

Win the most races by double but not the Championship. Come back the next year and do worse.

After it happened to him, Bradshaw made a curse on the whole AMA supercross, so it will continue to any unfortunate soul to by far win the most races but lose the championship. Eli has felt the wrath of the Bradshaw Curse.

Dungey won 10 races or so in 2016 and won. RV did the same before that...

Mcgrath dominated the 90s, Stew, Reed, Carmichael, RV, Dungey all seem to dominate year after year. Maybe Eli just is not that good.

Holy Facepalm. It’s the first race of the year and a race that Eli has never really “dominated” like he has others. Let’s not write a career off for a bad night.

And they both WON the championship.

Eli did not but still won at least double the races of his competitors.

In a supporting role, the Fox curse. Can affect former champions or favorites....only a few championship contenders have been able to overcome.

RJ to JT - 1989
Bradshaw to AXO - 1991
Windham to No Fear - 1999
Roczen to SHIFT - 2017 (ok, that's a stretch)

One and done
Pastrana to No Fear - 2000
Stewart to Answer - 2009

Unaffected
McGrath to No Fear - 1999
