Now, I don't follow any other sports closely, but is it just me or do we have some of the weirdest/uncommon names in this sport? Tickle, Baggett, Raper, Bogle, McAdoo, Aeck etc.

Raper is soooooo unfortunate. I think I'd ask my dad to change the family name to Rapier so I could say "Rah-Pee-Eh."

I've thought the same exact thing.

McElrath, Sexton, Cianciarulo, Savatgy, Nicoletti - all insanely weird last names...

Pro football has some weird ones too.

Couple of d-linemen on my college team: John Bash and Clark Bugg. Always thought they had great football names

There was a goalie in the NHL named Rob Tugnutt, other hockey guys like Dick Paradise, Tuuka Rask, Paul Coffey, Miroslav Satan, and Sergei Zubov. Hockey always has some kick ass names

Hooker Hood.

If anybody knows this one, I’ll be shocked.

I was going to add McElrath and Cianciarulo. McElrath shouldn’t be too weird IMO if it was pronounced like “Mc-Elrath” but with the “Macal-rath” way they say it, it’s a bit odd.

Sprint car driver. And a great one at that! My dad raced against him. He would put his car in places it shouldn't fit.

Yes! So cool that your dad raced.

I'm not familiar with that name. We didn't really travel out side of the mid-south with the sprint cars. Mainly I-30 in Little Rock Arkansas and a few other tracks within a couple hundred miles or so. I-30 draws some big names.

That's probably because he had such a high number. They don't talk about the guys that aren't that good.
