So I have 10hrs on my Think Foam seat foam on my ktm and it is self destructing. I kept feeling soft spots on the sides of the seat and kept finding little tissue like pieces of something on my air filter. I decided to take off the seat cover and found that it had pretty much deteriorated and chunked off all along the sides. And before everyone asks...I'm 200lbs so I am not overweight and I don't pressure wash off my bike. Has anyone else had any issues like this? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Instead of howling on here, perhaps you should give Dan a call at Think Technology. He is a reasonable man who takes care of his customers.

He's far from howling. All he wanted was a second opinion from someone with the same product.

Seems more like a single event type of product. Unless they warranty it for a specific time period or something.

OUCH.... tough crowd. I'm fairly that he wasn't howling but instead just looking for some opinions and feedback from us members and you guys are jumping all over him. I'd want to know if anyone else was having the same issue so when I called I could say that I've heard from a few other guys that are having the same issue so you don't get the typical car dealership response of "this is the first time I've heard of this problem" I've had 4 or 5 seat foams from Think and they've all been rock solid and issue free until my latest one that I have on my 18 450FE. I'm noticing the same things that he was talking about with the soft spots and pieces of foam on my filter. I haven't taken my seat apart yet and was planning on doing it this wk to see what the foam looks like. I'm going definitely pull the cover tomorrow morning to see what's going on.

Thanks digger...that's all I wanted to know. People tend to jump the gun and spew our remarks without considering some people just want some ammo before the call. Lmk what you find when you pull the cover!

I took my seat apart today and it was way worse than I expected. The foam is falling apart in multiple areas. This is my 4th or 5th foam from Think and none of them have ever done this. Definitely calling Dan at Think this afternoon to see what he thinks and hopefully can do for me.

Wow. Glad I’m not the only one this has happened to!

Anyone remember Ceet seats? Damn those were good. Probably not as light, but damn things lasted forever.

Thank you and that was my point exactly too. I'd want to know and now that they are 2 of us having an issue maybe there are more and I'd like to know that also so I could tell Dan when I call him this afternoon that I'm not the only guy who's seeing their foam breaking down.

when we used Tecnosel seat foams the same thing happened the foam would get wet from washing the bike and break down so i was told to take the seat off and stand it on end overnight, which when you do that quite a bit of water comes out that was in the 90s and ive been doing it since and havnt had any seats fall apart

The five exclamation marks probably have something to do with the "howling effect".

Same here. Always drain the seat after washing or take it off before washing. Digger's seat looks like it's been washed 1000 times and never dried out.

No shit huh?? and I only use a power washer at the races and I'm very careful with my seats because Travis at Motoseat explained to me that every stitch is a hole and then add all the ribs on top on the seat and you've tons of little holes for water to get in.

It goes on a dirt bike! If it can't stand getting wet, it's not worth a shit. I'll bet Think will make it right. They may have got a bad batch of foam or something.

The original poster is the exception to the rule. There are quite a few participating in the "call out culture" around here, most recently sumguy and Derek Harris.
