There were a couple of KTM 144's around the track last night. Man they sound good. Would really like to dig a ride on one.

Still the two strokes were louder in the arena then the four strokes, it was basic revs. Im sure you could hear the four strokes further away.

The new name for it is 150 for 09 but its still got a displacement of one fourty sumthin but I think its got a bigger stroker crank. And ya I'm stickin to my 2 stroke for now. Till parts are too hard to find then I'll move up to a 250F

A bunch of guys bought used 250 two strokes around here this spring but most have sold them and went back to the four strokes. I bought one as a practice/beater bike. We take it along every weekend but no one wants to ride it. But they sure do sound and smell good.

I've tried several times over the years, but I just can't dig the 250 Ts. They're just too much weight and too pipey.

I've only been on one 250F, but it is a much more reasonable ride, lighter and smoother. Of course the lightest and smoothest of all is a 125. There's no better bike.

I love 125s and thought about boring one out and checking that out, but then I figure why not just ride the 250?

I rode with a kid on a RM125 last weekend at Tomahawk and it was awesome to hear that thing WFO. It takes talent to keep a 125 on the pipe and going fast.

I see a new KTM 150 in my near future.. I hate 4 strokes...I wish I knew somebody local to me that had a 144 so I could take a spin on it to make sure its what I want

Interesting. I've found the 250F's to feel the same as a 250T as far as weight was concerned. Smoother, yes. Fun, no.

Each to their own.

My brother blew up his 250f before the paint stripe was wore off his tires. We just rebuilt it and he is selling it and getting a KTM 150.
I'm not kidding about the tire stripe.

I love my RM250. Smooth and easy to ride especially with the flywheel weight. Just chug it around.

I imagine people are tired of hearing this but: My old favorite track - Rio Bravo - had a long, rough, fast straight through really thick woods and brush, and the sound would kind of bounce around in there like a tunnel. My 500 sounded so good going through there that it was almost sexual.

I wont ride anything but a 2 stroke. Ever. Sorry. I honestly would quit riding before I bought a 4 stroke. Absolutely no fun whatsoever.

9 oz. It doesn't really slow the revs down, it just is harder to stall and you can run a gear higher in a lot of sections.

What the? Am I in Bizarro world where up is down and down is up? I never thought I would hear something like that coming from you. Especially since it shot it's guts into it's pipe. Get your parts in yet?

A pro friend of mine borrowed my Yz250 -03 yesterday cause his crf250 gave up. Hi was 3sec faster a lap right from the strart on the 2 smoke. So if the rumors of a pure 250 2stroke-4stroke class in 2010 is true the 2 stroke should come back strong Smile

LOL, I know..Im a 4 stroke guy, but I have to give the bike credit man... super light, agile and Fassstttt... I have to laugh when I see it pull away from the 4 strokes on the straights and the hole shotsTongue

The parts will arrive at maxpower today in Jersey, then he will ship them to me. Motosports wont ship to Canada. we will be back racing next weekend

Absolutely love my 05 RM250, the most fun bike ive ever rode. I just cant get into 4 strokes, I am much slower on them.

Hmmm, thats interesting. I have a '05 RM250 but was a bit faster on a thumper. I had a RM-Z250 for a while and I was able to run Expert times on it in the woods, but it was underpowered in some respects and just didnt have the 'instant on' power I like to have to keep outta trouble when flying thru tight stuff. So I went back to the '05 RM250 and love the thing. I really need to respring it for my weight though, but the power delivery suits me better for fast woods racing.

I really need to install the extra flywheel that came with my bike. My RM hits like a monster (yeah, too much, but I love it). I should try my bike with the heavy flywheel installed. Maybe I'll do it for my next visit to Cygnus's.

X3 or so.

06 YZ250, stock except for PC shorty silencer. Just that simple mod makes the bike perfect for my old slow self. I can't see ever selling this bike.
