Did anyone seriously think he was going to be a title contender though? He's definitely part of a great program now but I can't see that adding that extra few percent that he's been missing for the last 5+ years.

Title contender no... podiums yes. Just based on the fact that he has gotten there before and I thought maybe a confidence boost.

Thing is people compared him to Zacho, which maybe there were some similar results but Osborne has never ever ever been short of speed. He was lightning in a tubby bottle, a bottle without a home, then a bottle overseas, but always lightning.

Not sure anyone ever said holy shit look at Tickle except for when Alessi gave him the ride of his life.

Exactly. Tickle is a fantastic rider. Consistent and a solid top ten guy. I actually quite like him and think he works hard. That said, I've never watched him and had that Josh Grant effect where you see an insane lap or rhythm and wonder what he'd be like if he trained with Aldon.

It seems like the change to KTM and Aldon hasn't made a difference. He is the solid Tickle that finishes 7-12th with a sporadic top 5 finish here and there.

Nothing wrong with that. I just expected that we would've seen something else from him.

Looking at the leaderboard last night I kept thinking that literally 1-20 place were all super fast guys/250 champions. Even though there isn’t really one dominating rider they are all so fast. Reminds me of the mid-late 90s minus not having a McGrath/Carmichael.

I suppose now we will see how good Aldon really is at taking 7-12th rider and putting them top 5 consistently. His program essentially should find that 2% Broc will need.

18th after lap 1. That's a tough night from there if you're running the same lap times as 8-12th place guys.

He's doing better than Wilson and Canard before him on that bike...they didn't even get to ride it all that much.

Hmmmmm.... imagine that! And here I was about to sell my Yamaha to go buy a Ktm so I could be faster.

Don't you know that KTM and Aldon are the greatest thing since the invention of the breathing technique? He must be hurt. He'll win next week.

Ya know how people ask "is it the bike?" when someone is doing poorly (Eg. Justin Hill, Barcia in the past..)
We could've asked at times "is it the bike?" about the KTM and riders winning/doing well??

Nah.. it's not the bike.
It NEVER is. Good or bad..

I said it In the tickle thread before the season. He can get a podium but that’s about it. People were saying he’s a top 5 guy every single week with multiple podiums. He’s just not that

To me he looks slower than normal... Small injury? Not jiving with the KTM? Not doing so well on the Aldon diet?

Can you point us all to the bike weight charts?

No not the standard stuff, the factory bikes.

nope, sure cant. But since the minimum weight is 220 lbs, I would think they are all very close to that. With enough money, you can make any of the mfr bikes light.

How often does this have to come up. No amount of money is getting a zook at the minimum while still being able to handle supercross with the current ama rules. We have weights for some pro bikes, we KNOW not all the factory bikes are close to minimum weight.

Comment from someone with RCH was the production KTM 450 was lighter than their race bikes...

Tickle pretty much finishes where he starts.
When was the last time you recall Broc coming through the pack and working his way up to a top 5?
So far the miracles of KTM and Aldon ain’t on display. Sure hope they do get it sorted as Broc seems to be a great guy and i wish he’d do well each week
1/28/2018 2:54pm
I guess everyone just assumed he’d be a top 5 regular guy since he’s with Aldon and on a KTM. Idk if Aldon can make tickle a top 5 guy every week. I mean he’s not gonna beat kenny, Eli, Barcia, Peick, MM, seely, Anderson...and that’s only 7.

In the words of DV "You can holeshot and finish 10th, or start 10th and finish 10th, or start dead last and finish 10th". Or something to that effect. That is Tickle. He has his place in the pecking order in SX. His results move up as the field depletes with injuries.

I'm not bagging on him. He's solid, he's friendly, he causes no drama in a team. The perfect 2nd rider IMO. But the big leap a lot of people thought would happen unlikely to happen. It's not like he was out of shape or a lazy trainer before the Baker deal.

All I know is that Roczen made 450F class look silly on 2016 RMZ 450 outdoors

Podiums? As in consistent podiums? No. Even with this ride and getting on Aldons program, i never thought Tickle would be a podium guy. Maybe a podium on a very very good night for him, but thats it. Maybe 2 or 3 podiums throughout the series, but i didn't really think his results would change that much from what we've seen out of him for the past few years. I think him he will be better outdoors though being on this program, but ive always thought he was a better outdoor rider then indoors.

Doesn’t he usually struggle in the west coast rounds and improve once things head east.
