With this SX title and an outdoor championship he would be down 1. 27 years old, it's possible. In light of tossing a few already arguably, it would be incredible.

He will have a tough time topping Carmichael's two perfect seasons.

Not sure on the math here, but RC has 10 Outdoor championships and 5 SX titles so I'm not sure how he would be down 1......and he was retired at 27.

Most Moto Wins In A Single Season: 24, Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart

This record, shared by Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart, is literally unbeatable in the current motocross series because there are only 24 motos a year. Yes, that means each of them won every single moto in a season. And since a perfect season just isn’t good enough sometimes, Carmichael actually did it twice, in 2002 and 2004. James would later repeat Carmichael’s feat in 2008.

Furthermore....Most Riders Lapped In A Single Moto: 39, Ricky Carmichael

This may seem like a Carmichael-heavy list, but the man is nicknamed the “Greatest of All Time” for a reason. Back at a mud-soaked Spring Creek national in 2006, Ricky Carmichael lapped every single rider on the track on his way to the most dominant single moto performance, ever.

And that can't be matched this year. As the series will be 22 motos if we're lucky.

There can only be one Goat....

Most AMA Wins of All-Time: 150, Ricky Carmichael

This record combines motocross and supercross wins. Ricky Carmichael’s historic 150 may never fall, considering no other rider is even in the triple digits. If a rider were to ever reach the 100 mark (which is absolutely absurd), they would still only be two-thirds of the way to Carmichael’s record

RC has short legs so he's at a disadvantage.

I stand to be corrected but Carmichael was leading both championships in his abbreviated 2007 season before he walked away.

RC only won 22 Motos in 2005 but every overall. Maybe he can tie that.

Huh?
RC has won 12 titles in a row if you ignore the 2004 SX season that he skipped.
Tomac is already one of the greatest but he's not even remotely close to RC. It's very unlikely that anyone will ever get close to him

Hasn't Tomac only won 4 titles? Pretty sure he's down 11...

I think Tomac is a beast, but there is just no way. Carmichael changed the game completely when he came into the scene. The only other guy that had speed like that was JS and he had the misfortune of racing against RC. Same goes for Reed when he was at his peak. RC found a way to beat anyone that was unfortunate enough to line up against him.

Yes I agree. Once racing resumes...Eli can catch up with and pass RC in the press box on any given day!

Down 1? I’m really confused at your math. Carmichael has 12 Championships. Tomac would have 5 in your scenario.

The only list he could possibly catch him in is SX wins. If he races 3 more years and does decent then he could get him.

The OP must be bored, sitting home not working and in need of some sort of entertainment. Smile

To borrow from an infamous exchange

"Mr Tomac, I served with Ricky Carmichael. I knew Ricky Carmichael. Ricky Carmichael was a friend of mine. Mr Tomac, you're no Ricky Carmichael...."

Tomac sure has talent....but there is no comparison.

Eli goes fast when he feels like it.

RC did too...but he always felt like it.

So...I was reading an article on the home page about 3. It stated his wins, I started thinking. Problem is I was thinking about McGrath's 7 wins in SX. Totally spaced out. I'm 58 years old. Maybe it's the quarantine...maybe not. My favorite rider of all time is RC. No excuses. I will hit myself in the shins with a flat head shovel.
I meant to say 3 will catch Mcgrath... 🖕🙋‍♂️j/k
