Tonight is Proof

You don't need no points chase format, you don't need no gimmicks like the triple crown. Just give the boys a good track to race on and all of our problems are solved. You gotta make an interesting race before you can get people interested in a whole race series.. Tonight was fun.

Nope. It would've been even MORE excited with a 3 main format. Because the racing still would've been sweet, but every race would've meant something. The problem with the triple crown debut was that the A2 track was ass.

Wrong. Third race often is useless with that format.

Gonna disagree with you there. There were more factors at play than just the format in providing a good two races.
It was the track, ruts, lap traffic and timely mistakes from leaders. But all that can happen regardless if the race is 12 minutes plus 1 lap or the traditional 20 plus 1.
Yeah this main was great, but for every 20 plus 1 that battles right to the finish there are 2 where the fastest guy starts top 3, is in the lead by lap 2 and the majority of the racing is done by 10 minutes distance and it's follow the leader until the end.

Great racing tonight for sure. When I saw the aerial shot someone posted the other day I was thinking the track was going to be terrible. Boy was I wrong...........

The A2 track was "ass" intentionally. The long, wide start straight, short races, the one-line sections, the easy whoops... They designed that track to shake up the standing by engineering different winners. Tonight was more true competition.

Agreed, please stick to the traditional format. Tonight's racing was absolutely epic.

Mental and physical fatigue played a major role in those last 4 laps. Something a triple whatever wouldn't have produced.

The track tonight is what made the racing what it was. If that would of been a consistent track the results would look much different through out the whole line up.

So, they designed a one-lined track to produce different winners?

Probably. It looked to me like A2 was designed to give every opportunity for an unexpected holeshot to somebody who could hold on for 8 minutes.

I was being sarcastic... that sounds ridiculous!

I'm not so sure. Look at the commentaries about A2 over on RacerX. That track design defies explanation in some respects. Glendale and tonight's track are what we should strive for.

Absolutely, fantastic track for good racing

You say tonight was a perfect example of why to keep the old format, what about all the other races that show otherwise? I'd rather try a new format to mix things up. You can always change it back if it doesn't work.

Triple crowns are da bomb. Tonight’s race was pretty awesome, cool track and real dirt.

Was there a pit brawl? Holy crap, some very aggressive and kind of awesome moves.

Kawi vs Yamaha and KTM vs Husky (like cousins fighting).

The problem though is the heat seem kind of “mailed in”. This sport has to sell adrenaline.

The 3rd main in both classes would have been on asphalt. The track couldn’t handle that type of race.

It couldn't handle a 12 min race from the 250s and a 15 min race from the 450s after receiving track maintenance before both of these races? ....Huh?

Agreed! Last two tracks have been better than they have been in years.

Agree. For the people that want to see a circus there is plenty to choose from, no need to turn sx into that.

Great racing, lots of passing and bang'n bars. Loved everything that both main's offered, Plessinger rode his ass off, collapsed from being sick as a dog, and keeps the red plate. Only wish Roczen or Seely would have taken the checkered flag, nothing against Anderson, just would have been Seely's first career win....I think ? and Roczen would be a hero (again) and a Wheaties Box candidate. Oh, and BB took 3rd.
