This could've been discussed before. I am just curious if anyone knows what Tomac's new deal would've been worth? Base salary + Bonuses? The teams are so tight lipped as to the salaries of their riders.

Thanks guys.

No one knows. What do you think this is, any other professional sport?

Was it Tomac or Barcia kit deal to be a rumored $800k?
Would that be yearly or the total contract? I would think Tomac is making more than that, at least seven figures. But who knows...

With a Mil or so for a yearly salary from the team too.

So:
1 mil salary for guys like Tomac and Roczen
800k for your gear deal
100k a win - 75 or 50 for seconds
1-2 mill championship bonus

They’re up around 2 just to show up, and upwards of 4-5 if they clean up.

If tomac is making $800,000.00 a year for his A-star deal then I’ll eat my hat.

I believe those rumors are true. But how about a guy like Bogle (last year when he had his own gear deal) and Wilson (o'neal?)

And how does it work when a team like RMATV has riders like Bagget, whom normally has a great gear deal for a top 5 450 rider? Is it settled in his salary?

They’re underpaid for the work they put in and the risks they take in my opinion. But economics of pro sports is what it is. We’re small and not drawing the viewership that most stick and ball sports are.

Salary is much higher for both of those guys.

A tenth place pro golfer can make more playing a couple rounds a year. i look at some of those tournament payouts and we are in the wrong sport.

If I could pick a single sport to be a top contender in, golf would be the clear winner. They make bank and have really long careers.

I heard Wilson was getting around 150-200k for gear. Not sure if true

I am really shocked that not anyone of the knowing insiders have spoken the real numbers here.

The only acceptable salary is of course tree fiddy. Anything above that is just blasphemy.

That's crazy money. Great for Eli, but how can a company justify that? I find it hard to believe that sponsoring a single rider would be able to generate enough revenue to balance that out. Crazy.

So basically Eli has made 10 million + his entire pro career? 3 million from the 450 MX titles and monster cup...and all the SX wins. And that’s not including team/sponsor salary??

If he’s making that from Alpinestars...then what is Oakley paying him?? He did have a commercial too.

The pay is so lopsided. I like how the top guys get paid a decent or better amount. 15th best motocrosser, not much there. 50th best motodude? Nothing...I just wish it was better.

So 1.2 mill for gear only. A-Stars has tomac/Anderson/barshia on this side as premier talent and including their European riders that’s 5-7 a year before they turn on lights at the sweat shop. Where is their margin? Boots?

If he wins a title, depending on how many wins he gets 6.5 -7 mill that year.

Salary + winning bonuses + championship bonuses = yes, approximately. However, consider that is over a nearly 10 year pro career, so you’re looking at around $1M/year (excluding endorsement monies).

The only astars gear I can even buy within 8hrs is boots, if they sort that out and get it into all dealers like fox, that would have to help.
