Am I the only it annoys the crap out of when these guys can't give an interview without using the word "we" a dozen times? Is it the new fad like tucking there ears in there hat like a douchebag? WE rode good tonight, WE had a good week on the bike, WE need to keep our head down etc. I never noticed anyone saying it before Dungey, I guess WE can thank him for that and "super pumped".

What would you like them to say?

It's a team sport between the rider, mechanic, manager, trainer, etc. With the other things you listed, it sounds like you get bothered easily.

I too find it annoying. I think the ones who started out using it, used it in proper context. Testing, prepping, watching film, that's all we stuff. The on track stuff for the night is on the rider.

You would think it’s the off-season with garbage threads like this popping up

Exactly!

When talking about the race WE didn't do anything the rider did.

Nope, me too. Yes, it's a team that makes it all work but as said its the rider on the night, so me, not we!. lol.

Saying that, the girls in here would be straight on the backs of anyone who said " yeah, I did really well tonight etc "

Be funny to see some rider to be like that tho, can you imagine.... I think Weston would make that work.

Shouldn't you be making sure all the labels on the canned goods are facing the same direction?

This

I hate it too.

This is an individual sport like Golf, nobody else is out there with the rider training, practicing or breaking bones.

The team is doing their job to support the rider.

I think it's great that the rider isn't up there all "I did this and I did that" . Yes the rider is the one WE see,
but it's not always the rider who knows how to set up the bike that the rider can have great results.
Just an example folks, there's more to it. How about picking out the proper tire set? So many things!
If the suspension is off just a bit the rider goes from hero to zero. Then who's fault is it? So yes, "we"
is the proper term.

Actually, it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s a nice way to acknowledge the team.

When it's used instead of "I" it sounds ridiculous but if it's used correctly when speaking about the team I see no problem with it.

I feel you bro..who cares about the mechanics, suspension techs, riding coaches, trainers, drivers, financial backers, support network, videographers, doctors, etc!? Refresh this thread and remind me when the next person gets on the podium without any of these, please!

They should just refer to themselves in the third person.

Agreed. I couldn’t care less if someone uses a word wrong occasionally but when it becomes a thing that catches on and people are trying to do, or its repetitive, it stands out and is hard to ignore.

I get they're trying to give proper credit to the team, but it gets to a point where sometimes they don't make sense. And I know, kind of petty.

Jenny: Congratulations Jason, tell us how your race went.

Anderson: Jason rode well tonight! Jason's Dunlops hooked up off the gate and Jason was able to get the lead early.
Jason can't thank his Rockstar Energy Husqervarna team.

when we all grow up we will understand its not just about you. if your succeeding at anything in life lots of other people are responsible for your success, the sooner you understand that the sooner you will succeed.

This should be simple. When talking about preperation, bike changes, basically anything not during the race; "we" is ok. But not if you're talking about actions taking place during the race. YOU struggled during the main, not "we". YOU passed rider x for the win, not "we". etc. etc.

There are several phrases and verbal ticks the majority of these guys have that are just frustrating to listen to. It's so bad that I almost instantly become a fan of a guy that talks like a normal person when being interviewed.
