Just go with something simple like a Sony Handycam. Please don’t use a GoPro unless you already have one lying around.

I picked up a Canon G7X for high quality random pictures. While going through a bunch of how to videos I see that it's a very popular vlog camera. It is super easy to use and performs really well for my use. Lots of reviews on YouTube from vlogers.

I use my GoPro hero 5 and 7 for the riding parts, and sometimes I wear one with a head strap when I’m working on my bikes. When I’m not riding I just use my iPhone. My vlogs aren’t the greatest but I sure do have a lot of fun making them.

Son enjoys doing videos with the gopro session 4 and 5 in a custom mount. I use my note 9 for off the bike stuff. I have a cannon t3i I thought about using but the cell phone is just hand and easy to use.

I feel its more editing ability then camera quality that holds me back lol.
