Not that I'm aware of. I'd get rid of that Husky and go back to a Yamaha.

I heard he had to give all the bikes back except for the one he bought last year, so it probably needed more TLC than they were able to administer. Bummer.

Me, personally, I'd love to see him out there on a 250 in the 450 class instead. I think they sound cooler and I think he'd have an easier time keeping the bikes together. He's a fast dude and the 450 class is looking a little thin these days, so I think he'd do just as well.

I also wish he'd give the 450 class a try on the 250. He's already got a bunch of die hard 2 stroke fans and he's got a name built around the 2 stroke so I don't think it would be a total waste. It's not like he's a nobody.

I also think he'd be at a lesser advantage than being on the 125. He's close to scoring points in the 250 class and he scored a point last year. I know the 450 class has stiffer competition but seeing that he already qualifies on the 125 I can't see why he couldn't do it with double the displacement. I get that it's harder to score points on a 125 but he did it last year. Time to set new goals. Get in the top 20 in both moto's? Get a top 100 number while riding a 2 stroke? Not exactly sure when the last time someone scored a national number riding a 2 stroke but it has to be in the mid 2000's. Brett Metcalfe on the 125 in 2005?

Anyone with deep pockets willing to build him a fully modded Husky TC 250?

I posted it before but something like this would be awesome

I remember being at either Broome Tioga or Steel City (forget specifics) in 2005ish and seeing Metty's 125 being sold. After the race it was wheeled out of the Yamaha rig with the pipe all rusty and looking a bit neglected. After scrounging for plastics and autographs I saw a random dude wheeling it out of the pro pits. Sad day haha.

I'm not believe me. I'm just saying is Metty the last guy to score a national number on the 2 stroke? Would be a good goal to work towards. Would have to be in the top 20 at more than one round but with some better training and a good bike it could be possible.

2005 was the last year Metty rode the 125 and sad day alright. Sad day for you, not picking up that legendary bike.

Damn.... At this point the husky 125 is looking like a steamy turd. Forget points, Husky needs to step in just to see if they can help him finish a few races.

Yeah, Husky did have a vested interest in helping him in order to back their product. But, at the same time, we don't hold every privateer to the same standard when their 4 strokes break because it's inherent that their level of prep isn't going to be as top notch as the guys under the factory awnings. And even then, those guys have bike failures too. So I don't think this is any reflection on the TC125. The average Joe isn't racing 12 nationals at the highest level.

Well to be fair he's riding an older bike that has I don't know how many hours on it. Husky stepped in when he was having all those transmission issues.

Honestly this guy is doing A LOT of promotion for Husky and at practically no cost to them. Seriously how much would it cost Husky to support him with 2 bikes and parts for a season? I know racing is expensive but for the amount of promotion he's doing for them I personally think it would be worth it for them. Besides that I don't think it would make that big of a dent in the KTM/Husky group budget. I don't know him but something tells me he'd be happy if they just picked up the tab for the series. Give him bikes, a parts budget, pay his entry fees along with his fuel bill and pay him a small bonus when he scores points and call it a day.

They obviously won't support a factory rider with a 2 stroke effort but they have 2 strokes in their lineup so why not market them through a privateer effort like Steinke that already has a good strong following. I'm no marketing genius but it seems like a very good plan to me.

I wouldn't see him doing better on the yz. Support and money is support and money. If he cant make the husky reliable, how could he make the yz reliable with more power added to it? Not to mention the handling is better on the husky in stock form.

Id like him to get enough support to have the husky bulit reliably

You'd think Husky, KTM, and or Yamaha would be willing to do something for privateers who can do as well as him on bikes that they sell. It's not like he's out there on a bike that is out of production.

I don't know why husqvarna doesn't just throw together a small effort for him. He's doing a lot for their brand and for 125s in general, and if he's got support he'll be able to finish all the motos.

Honestly, at this stage, with the problems he's had with the husky, coupled with the seemingly lack of support, I'd be inclined to go back to a Yamaha

Would definitely like to see him on a properly prepped YZ250.

I saw him come around during the parade lap for the second moto. But never saw him throughout the actual race. He was the only rider that had people cheering for him every lap when he came around. It was pretty cool to see him ahead of some thumpers.

I don't see why people give Husky shit without knowing all the details. Do people think without a team that he's putting a parts inventory to the bike like an organized team would? Privateers who ride 250f bikes have countless mechanical issues as well.
