His there another word for beginner level , for someone that has ridden , for many years but had long periods of not riding ? I would say Novice at one time but , beginner level now.

Not sure how to vote. I turned A in 1986, held a pro license in ‘87-‘89. Quit riding when I got married in ‘95. Polished the dust off my old bike in ‘07, upgraded to an ‘06 RM250 a year or two later. Rubbed some of the rust off and still have a decent skill set but lack endurance. Then the last few years I couldn’t ride due to severe carpal tunnel. Got that fixed in January but now have severe tendonitis in my left elbow. I want to be out there though. I’m working on making it happen again at 52 years young.

This pole doesn't really reflect the population here. The way it's worded is how I'd ask a teenager about their skill level. Most guys here are some form of vet racer.

There was a disclaimer at the top about that. Think of it as open practice and where you fit in. No handicapping just how good you get around. I didn't want the pole to have 37+ classes like LL'sWoohoo

Was a mid pack intermediate a long, long time ago.

Now I'm old and l practice professionally when l do ride so l don't know. Been off the bike for awhile after a crash that required multiple surgeries so there's that too.

Ok, l'm old and slow. So wherever that puts me is where l'm at.

I was once kind of fast, earned 3 number one plates, two of which are on top in the pic.
I still race at 59 in the master class with the International Old Timers.
Getting old sucks Smile

Last time I raced was at Indian Dunes 41 years ago. Last time I rode was 1988. Two years later I was shot and paralyzed. The poll says "current level" so I don't even qualify for begginer status. I'm out.

This poll is a tough pill to swallow for guys that ride the A practice on track days but do four races a year in 250 C.

If I was any slower (or lazier) then I'd be in a coma.

He is saying that I am a +30 vet expert and I have won races at my local track this year . . . Yet I am probably 5 seconds a lap slower than the guy that wins the novice class at my track on any given weekend.

Numerous "novice" kids are fast enough to be in a higher class most of the time
