Just wondering if anyone out there knows the real story behind Suzukis struggles... The likes of no mxgp team, BNG on the 250f. Also a heavy 450 that has gotten bad reviews. Why is everyone dogging on the Suzuki camp when season ain't even begun! Go JGR! Way to invest in our sport; thank you!

Maybe it's the same story as with brands like Maico, Amex, CZ, Rokon or Bultaco...

we as people feel like we have no control over big industry decisions, but at the end of the day, if you want suzuki to survive, buy suzuki.

Suzuki hasn’t been really innovating on any of their bikes. Even their street bikes are lagging.

As a proud owner of a new 17 RMZ250, i have the utmost faith Suzuki wont be shutting its doors any time soon. They recently just got back into MotoGP and they are pretty invested in the road racing side. Maybe they see the dollar signs in that side of the sport rather the moto side. All that said i fully expect my next bike to be another Suzuki, after owning multiple KTMs and a kawi, the rmz as put the biggest smile on my face and has exceeded all my expectations. Cant wait to see what impact JGR will have on future models.

They could easily right the ship with E start and some weight loss on the 450 then E start and weight loss on next years 250f.

Hell if they threw the old RM125 engine in the new frame/plastics they would sell a few...but emissions will never let it happen.

maybe it's: invest in product dev => sell a lot of bikes

seems to work for honda, ktm/husky and yamaha

Why would emissions not let it happen? Yamaha, KTM, Husky, and others are still selling 2-strokes.

Take it to the limit, one more time!

Valid statement.

They also are not selling bikes. At the local track here in southern California you maybe will see one or two RMs at the track. One good thing is the left over 17's are super cheap around 4,500 sticker, so if you need to save money and want a new(ish) bike.

No only are the 17’s super cheap, but I saw an 18 RMZ450 the other day listed at $7300. The 18 250’s are down to $5999 already!

They don't make their money in Motorcycles in the US Market...but scooters in the international market. Why invest in a market with limited to no return on investment.

Never try to argue with idiots; they will only bring you down to their level.....and being more experienced, they will beat you at their own game!

This comes up every time someone posts something about Suzuki. You may want to check their financials before making such a statement.

Exactly! When you see how many Honda/Suzuki scooters are in the streets of India and Southern Asia countries you wonder how big of a business are MX bikes for those companies.

Maybe I'm wrong, but i always thought suzuki made more money from marine engines than anything else? I live in a seaside town in the uk & suzuki outboards seem to be everywhere.

Suzuki's marine division does well but ultimately selling small cars in markets all over the world is where the core of their business lies these days.

Their Suzuki Swift models are certainly doing well in the UK. You can't turn a corner without seeing a hairdresser driving one thinking they're Lewis Hamilton.
