KO'd myself with broken ribs, two punctured lungs, exploded a nut, in the ICU for 10 days,

A year later added a broken femur with some knee damage

Did numerous collarbones, a hand, a foot, Tibial spine fracture, ACL, seperated shoulder, a few more knockouts

Slowed down since those days...

ACL has by far done the most damage to me mentally. Not only did it delay my career progression, but the long recovery of getting just back to normalcy is daunting. Not to mention it was initially misdiagnosed so that added almost three extra months onto the recovery. I remember shattering my ankle when I was a kid, but it was literally from cast to bike. No walking around knowing you can ride... but shouldn’t.

Worst/life threatening, dissected vertebral artery, with a stroke 3 days later.
Knee(ACL+meniscus) has been the worst lingering injury.
Shattered navicular in my foot, cant shift standing up anymore since my foot doesn't bend upwards.

There was a thread like this some time back, and Ridgeway posted a picture of his foot. It was no longer attached to his leg.

Why did I even come into this thread. I've had some bad shit, but broken bones and sleeping-on-the-track concussions are childs play compared to what some dudes go through. Makes me wonder why we do it sometimes.

Sheesh, I've got nothing compared to these war stories.

Broken wrist, dislocated shoulder, 2 broken collarbones with a plate in the left side, broken scapula.

Level 6 tibial plateau fracture & collar bone at the same time.

Had surgery on both. 2 plates in my knee and 12-14 screws. 1 plate and 7 screws on the collarbone.

Insurance didnt cover an ounce of it so you could say the wallet is heavily injured too.

Holy shit. And I was going to say a torn rotator cuff and torn labrum. That's like a minor scratch compared to what you've been thru!! Btw, I've slowed down too.

ACL & meniscus, separated shoulder, knocked out a few times, shattered growth plate, few stitches, and my favorite one was a lacerated liver and damaged gallbladder, which happened to be a blessing in disguise.
27 years old I had a colonoscopy, endoscopy and hida scan for GI issues, beyond finding I damaged my gallbladder they also found a large pre cancerous polyp.. Had I not afflicted blunt force trauma to myself, I would’ve been blind sided with colon cancer before my 40th birthday..

*Good luck with surgery tomorrow dude!

This one was kinda bad...

Broken tib/fib both ankles (left ankle 8 places, right ankle 6 places). Doc said they had to amputate my ankles and my dad said fuuuuuck that and we had to go to a different hospital where they'd try to save my feet. Pretty gnar. I still have the hardware in my leg, too.

I can't remember exactly, but I was pretty dumb back then so I remember getting back on a bike after 3-4 months.

Broken heel has been the most life changing. I limp. The broken wrist was pretty bad. I love riding though......

It's been since my surgery 10/06/19. Honestly I was worried about osteonecrosis. I'm at the non weight bearing stage till the 27th. The surgeon said it's healing great. My range of motion is getting better doing therapy myself. I have to go back to work by january15th. So I'm going to rehab like crazy. My Dr said I should be fine. Im 43 yrs old
