I need a new bike within the next couple weeks. Of all the 2018’s iv been perched upon in the showroom, the Suzuki feels the best, but I know it is down in power. I don’t want to spend 3,000.00 on mods to get it equal to a stock KTM.

The Honda feels ok, but really don’t like the electric start only and having dual exhaust.

The Yamaha is good overall suspension and power, but ergo’s I didn’t like. I’m 5’7 and 170 pounds.

So, which bike did you all pick and why?

I’d never own either one of those. Hate orange and Husky doesn’t have reliability. They are here a few years then gone for 10-15 years.

KTM owns Husky. I don't see them going anywhere... and as for reliability, I put 92 hours on my 16 FC250. Valves didn't move once. Put a new piston at 92 and kept on riding...

Well there is another problem of not having a Husky dealer around. I’m definitely not driving hundreds of miles to buy.

I may just get the RMZ and put a pipe, piston and re-gear.

I'd get the Honda. Electric start is amazing and the dual exhaust doesn't phase me. If the thing turns then it's fun to ride.

There all good so get the one that has the best local dealer support/ price. Honda/ yami have spring forks and i feel that is a big plus. Both also have good motors. In the end get what you really want and dont look back

So comical how people know so little about bikes still.

I picked up an RMZ a couple of months ago, on paper it may be down on power but on the track my times are basically indentical to my times on my 16 yz250f. I run the aggressive map and have the yosh ti/ carbon combo. No other mods aside from suspension being done. The zook is quite capable. Dont let the naysayers fool you

Sounds to me like you want a rmz and nothing we say is going to change your mind. With that being said I'd get a ktm.

Yamaha for the power delivery characteristics (very strong bottom that remains strong all the way to the top, most broad power band of any 250f), suspension, stable feeling, reliability, great looks, and the fact that it's a proven performer in the amateur and pro racing circuits.

I’ve forgotten more about bikes than you’ll ever know. I know KTM owns Husky. That doesn’t mean it will always be the case. They still have to sell consistently. If sales decline, KTM might sell them off.

So comical how little people know about business.

I got a yz250f but mostly due to pricing. For me it was between blue, orange and green. I know I would have been happy with any brand new bike though. I think the most important thing in purchasing a new bike is dealer support. As soon as I walk into my local Yamaha dealer I'm greeted on first name basis, I also get discounts on most anything I buy. This isn't expected by me, they still have a business to run, I'm not turning down discounts however. I'm mostly happy with the customer service.

I went with the Honda. I haven't had it long enough to speak on reliability. I love the E start. I have also not been able to tell where it is "down" on power lower in the RPM's. I'm a slow though so take it for what it is..

The only bikes I wouldn't buy aftermarket suspension for is the Honda or Yamaha. But if you don't want e-start or duals, sounds like Yamaha is the bike for you.

Go to the track and beg/bribe people to take a lap on each. Showroom means nothing.

I need 3 things in a 250F

Good power where you need it.(most important unless you are gonna mod)

Good suspension

E start. ( I will never buy another bike without it)

I’ve ridden. Exceptionally narrow. Great handling.

Don’t worry about horsepower claims. They’re typically written based on being ridden at Glenn Helen (power robbing hills & sand).

I know what you’re saying about sitting on a Suzuki and it just feeling comfortable.

You’ve eliminated Austria so it’s between Green or Yellow. Can’t say I ever hear anyone upset with their Zook. Only downside it seems is the resale.

Yeah, it isn’t Zook or bust for me. The Kawi is adjustable, so I’m sure I could get it fairly comfortable. I also got a good quote on one. An OTD price about 900.00 off MSRP. I’m going to check out the Kawi again tomorrow.

Actually, I’m going to go with the Zook. I’m 20 min from JGR and I’m sure they can help me get some HP out of the engine.

The Kawis have had issues with the crank bearings going out. I have heard this from builders and a couple local racers had issues.

So if you know so much why are you here asking? You should be showing off your new bike that you picked all by yourself.
