Fast forward to 3:00 minutes. What Jordan Peterson articulates here (and what I read in his book) describes why James Stewart was the most exciting racer to watch IMO.

Of course, James Stewart is not the only rider to supersede into this category of beyond excellence. Feel free to mention other racers, or specific racing performances, who gave you this feeling while watching them.

Petersen Frikkin rules. He grew up an hour north of me.
One of the clearest thinking individuals of our time.

Of current riders I’d say Anderson’s style most fits the edge description. I don’t think he pushed THE edge as far as Stewart but he definitely pushes his own edge. He’s a fun guy to watch

Herlings is several levels above of the rest of the pack in MX as Kenny was a couple of years ago. When on their zone they are outstanding and awesome to watch.

But I don't think they ride on that edge.

Stu was for sure on the edge. Proof of that are his tremendous crashes and his rides, as Jordan says, way above perfection.

Watching James was never a letdown. Never. Checkers or wreckers, you were always left with a
"Did I just see that?" moment.
