Or at the very least, not allow riders to pin it along the side of the track next to track workers on a slick surface?

Rider in the 250 LCQ goes off the track and then just pins it alongside the track completely out of control next to several track workers. Very dangerous when he crashed. If he hadn’t though, would he have gained an advantage?

Number 114 in the 250 main just skips the pile up and a good portion of the track, lets the two leaders pass him, then starts racing in 3rd. Gain an advantage?

Jeremy Martin last year at Millville. That needs no further explanation. What a joke.

And of course the numerous other times a rider makes a mistake and goes off the track and then gains it all back by pinning it alongside the track during the entire section his competitors are maneuvering.

If you want to have a rule of “not gain an advantage” and “next safest area” then whatever. But when they’re out of control next to several cameramen and track workers, that’s where the line should be drawn. The track workers should raise their concerns to the AMA about this. Maybe that’ll get their attention.

Doubt it. Grown up sports like MotoGP still let riders like Marquez & Rossi cut the track without penalty.

I highly doubt SX is gonna address this issue. They can’t even get rid of Ralph.

And even if they did address it, we all know how subjectively the rule will be enforced.
