Deano doesn’t have factory suspension, he’s using Cone Valves and a Traxx shock that the general public can buy. Factory stuff is the 52mm forks.

Do you really think he'd be using 48mm cone valves if he could have full blown factory suspension? Knowing that he used that stuff for the last two years and considering all of the other factory bikes use them?

I would bet he could get them if he wanted them but when someone is paying you to run what they sell be guaranteed that's what they will run...

You get one chance to defend your title. He succeeded, so he's definitely out

Actually no he couldn’t and it’s the reason he’s using 48mm.

If you read halfway down the article he said there wasn’t enough of them for him. And of course he’s gonna say the 48mm are almost as good, but I’m sure he’d rather have the factory spec 52mm forks.

6 weeks for a collarbone is quite a lot of time? I guess they want to get him back in 100% fitness then?

Anyways, it sucks for Zach and the fans.

Breaking a collarbone, it all happens for a reason.

That makes me cringe so bad. Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Not really. Plating a collarbone reduces recovery significantly. Just had mine done and was good to go at 4 weeks. Letting it heal naturally would take 8 weeks plus rehab

newmann - it appears that you don't get lambasted for these types of statements...while I most certainly have in the past (so kudos to you).

I always find it strange that in the NFL (or even in college), sports reporters dig and dig to be the first media outlet to report on what the nurse alleges is the extent of a star player's injury before the athlete has a chance to comment. They don't shy away from finding "NEWS" about the athletes (including off-field problems, extramarital affairs, legal problems)...but in the mx world, the media outlets cut the threads that even talk about a rumor, refuse to report on it, and then wait for these pre-packaged marketing PR pieces before they will allow it to be out in the open.

have you ever gotten an answer?

No I does not. Many collarbones nowadays get surgically repaired. I work at a orthopedic facility and the majority of these fractures are surgically repaired. They heal much better and faster this way.

Something weird about that time frame for a "broken collarbone". Especially if he is getting it plated. I hope he didn't hurt his shoulder.

Yes i agree. To be fair, 6 weeks sounds like too much for "only" a broken collarbone that is being plated.

I mean Herlings got his plated and was back racing 2 weeks after that if i remember correct. That is of course an extreme example, but 6 weeks? Well i hope Zach still has the speed when he returns. He looked really good in the off season races!

Isn’t this yesterday’s news? Typical bullshit PR from the Moto industry coming in so far after the news was released that it is no longer “news”

Best of luck to Zach on a speedy/full recovery

Sure you will. And if you knew that poster's history , you would jump on the wagon too.It was originally a vague and "lucky " guess , that worked out and a top rider gets injured every single year before A1. Multiple accounts , like you.
