the ones i can think of off the top of my head are the TP199 leg hang, i remember literally every other rider going out of their way to do this at the local tracks...

another one is riders name on front number plate of amateur racers.
dont notice too much of this nowadays, maybe theyve moved on to #hashtags

what are some of the most notable ones you remember that have gone away?

Ha! Just a picture I found online..... however I pre ran a desert race with one and if you could ignore the engine sounds and the heavy front end and awful handling and insane ergos I still wouldn't buy one and I'm a huge fan of underdogs.

First thing I thought of! I had one on my helmet (minus the light) in the early 2000's and I thought I looked awesome, lol

Well, the 2 things that the op mentions haven gone away at all. And it's not a leg hang but gripping the chasis. The leg or arm swag of Bogle it's going away wich is good.

Kidney belts! Not sure why, as they actually always seemed to help. The rougher the track, the more I felt like it was needed. Elbow guards are pretty much the same. Not many people use them anymore.

Seen a few of the mohawks yesterday at the GNCC, they also had a pit bike race going on when we pulled in lol, I guess the off road crowd is a little late at giving things up.

1. Chest protectors and hand guards. Don’t see them much at all anymore.

2. The whip when celebrating a victory. We never see a rider throw it sideways over a jump on the final lap like we always used to.

Kidney belts still common place over here, roost protectors/ body armour are now manadatory at all ACU sanctioned races and practice tracks.

Blake Wharton wears one in the video Racer X posted not long ago. Can't be many pro's that still wear them.

I hate riding without it on the sand tracks. Hard pack, I can live without it. Smile
