Hello,
I'm 16 years old and I'm 5'4
I've been looking to get a Yamaha DT125R because my parents promised to buy me a bike.
Am I tall enough for a DT125R, and does anyone have any experiences with it?
Thanks.

Yes you're tall enough and that's a cool first bike.

Expected to get rickrolled.

Pleasantly surprised. That bike is sexy. Too bad not available in the states.

Such a great line👍 my buddies all had DT'S back in early eighties. Everyone said they would buy 175 and put 125 side cover stickers on them because at that time under 18 yrs of age was 150cc and under, but at that age money says otherwise😋
Get that thing. Ride it. And put some snail tracks on the back of that seat.

I rode a few thousand kilometers on one in trail/enduro from 12 to 14 in one of our holiday houses, near a ski station. My main mx bike was a 80 CR then 80 YZ, and the bike was not a 125 dtr but a white 125 dt lc 1984, the previous generation. Fun bike to start with. I was quite challenging my brother when he was taking one of his bikes, a 250 xr : so lack of power even when the engine is not limited at 13-15hp and lack of good suspensions for real enduro or motocross, but great first bike, way enough to debute, discover the sport and not feel scared with. It is economical and reliable too, a big plus when discovering moto.

And very torquey for a 125, which is great for beginners too.
Bit heavy and a lazy front end compared to what we're used to these days, but very ridable and yes, reliable too.
