GM styling has always been so plain, looks like it might be a little more interesting

I saw the 2019 Ram and I'll just say I'm really happy I got a 2017!

So weeks before 2018, a 2019 is released. Never quite got that. It's like getting the August issue of a magazine in June.

These companies and their big splash product reveals...they all think they're Apple with a new and improved gizmo.

Hey Chevy. Big freakin' deal.

Hopefully they updated that POS pile of gears and clutches they were calling a transmision.

It is all the emissions requirements. Really hurting all manufacturers.

Better hang onto the 2018's. I think that new style is horrible. Love the look of my 2015 and most in that generation. Chevy is taking a step back IMO

Looks like they are trying to copy their big brother Ford.

I heard plenty of stories over the last couple years about gm trying to hire people away from Ford to jump start their aluminum truck program. It's even better watching that gm commercial where they rip on aluminum trucks knowing full well they are trying to get onboard themselves.

I believe Dodge is now using Aisin's in the 2500/3500? If so, they are about the same as an Allison, used in alot of Medium duty apps like busses etc. Can handle alot of abuse and high torque loads.

Not sure if they have the external spin on filter, or if you can get an external aftermarket kit, but that is Allisons strong point. That and the pan has a drain bolt.
And they are virtually bulletproof.

The Allison has to be the easiest maintainance transmission in the world. It's so easy, that it actually encourages changing fluid and filter.

As a side note, I read the transmissions in the newer 3/4 and 1 ton Fords from about 2014 on are basically a copy of the Allison. Not sure how much is true though.

Somehow I'm also surviving without an Allison. Wink

My good old 48re (shit) has held up pretty good too, at 291,000 miles and counting.

Very nice Hut ! I had a '09 for 5 years but sold it and been in this 6.4 Hemi since 2015. I think mine is the RFE. Im just gonna hang on to my old 5.9 12v.

I have looked at the newer C&C's with the Aisin, but Im gonna wait until they get the newer SCR emissions stuff out and they take the EGR/DPF's off.

Those 6.4s are a beast. They are everywhere now and like the GM/Chev with the 8.1 and Allison.

The rancher down the road sold his 12 Cummins for a new 6.4 a few years ago and loves it. Same truck otherwise. The new gassers are running about the same in mileage as the new diesels in all brands and here, you cant do anything to help them in regards to emissions except an approved tuner.

Hes an old 12V and 24V Cummins dude also. He said, "Only reason I'd ever buy a GM product would be for the Allison" He's a Dodge dude through and through.

That and the commercials from Chevy ripping on Ford for having a tail gate step. And now they have their own version of it.

Toyota needs a straight axle 8 lug with the 5.7 gasser, and twin turbos. Sign me up.

That's a great feature. My wife uses hers on her F350 all the time. I try and avoid it though. I don't know what weight they rate it for but it feels a little under my weight range.

Edit- I just used google and it says 350 lbs. but it feels like some flexing with my 230
