I REALLY liked " Knowing" with Nicolas Cage. Very underrated in my opinion. Also, The Day after Tomorrow, 2012 , and "Armegeddon" was fun and had a great cast.

Count me as another who finds that movie very underrated. It does have some semi-cheesy CGI moments but if you can suspend disbelief for a moment it's an awesome movie.

Book of Eli - one of my favorite movies altogether. I'm a big Fallout fan and the scenery in this movie looks spot on to the game.

Like mentioned above.

Book if Eli
I am Legend

Both really good. I’ll add...

Mad Max
Zombieland (comedy)

And Zombieland 2 was frickin funny!! Me and the wife both loved it! It’s better then the first one by a mile. IMHO.

The Happening

It’s about an airborne virus emitted from nature. Interesting concept. I enjoyed it.

OK so ZL2 previews made it looks really stupid and cheesy (not that the 1st wasn't but it was still hilarious) so is it worth checking out then? Even my wife who's a diehard crazy horror movie buff wasn't wanting to give this movie a chance.

PS - The happening is an underrated movie. Zoey is pretty cute too so that doesn't hurt.

Zombieland 2 was really good. Obviously in that cheesy sorta way. But funny as hell. Definitely recommend it. Me and wife both agree better then the first. If you like the first I think you will really like the second one.

Agree, The Happening is pretty underrated! And the opening scene always gives me chills and I’ve seen it at least 10 times. Still gives me creeps.

Not sure if Independence Day is considered an apocalypse type movie. But sorta is.

I think we'll have to give it a try tonight or tomorrow then. I'll let you know the verdict and if you're wrong we never speak again haha.

BTW - for anyone that is a big horror movie fan....she just had me watch a movie today called "Strangeland" written by Dee Snider of all people. It was made back in 1998. It was actually a really good, very graphic film. Basically it's a SAW movie before the SAW movies ever started. His acting is impressive and the production was well above expectations.

As above; 12 Monkeys.
Music and overall theme still creeps me out.. Wonderful movie, one of the best regardless of genre imo

Not sure it counts but perhaps worth a mention; Logan's Run? Post apocalypse really.

Me and the wife are pretty big horror movie fans. we are not horror movie buffs by any stretch. We Own a pretty sizable collection of movies and a lot of them are horror movies.

Some of the more recent ones we enjoyed

Hereditary
Daniel isn’t Real
The Taking of Deborah Logan
The Possession of Hannah Grace
Annabelle 1 and 2
The Conjuring 1 and 2
The Nun

I’m not saying those are all fantastic but in general they were pretty good.
