Chevy Colorado

I will be picking up a 17 or 18 Chevy Colorado at the end of this month. I was wondering if anyone has any photos of the new body style Colorado's with a bike in the back? I want to make sure that a short back with a bed extender can fit a dirt bike no problem. Thank you for the help.

I don't have a Colorado but I've been looking at them. The short bed is a touch over 5' which means you've got close to 6.5' diagonally. Could probably close the tail gate so long as you're only hauling 1 bike.
The long bed is 6'2" which should be able to haul 2 bikes with the tail gate closed as long as you angle them some.
Either bed should be fine with the tail gate down.

I have no input on fitment, but damn do those new Colorado/Canyons look good for a smaller truck. If I was in the market it'd be my first choice. So stylin!

Thats shorter than a Chev/GMC Full size short bed. Its about the same size as a Dodge Full size short bed.

Long beds are 8 feet.

The colorado isn't a fullsize truck, it's a midsize. While I agree a long bed is 8' I used chevy's nomenclature.

Yes, but they need to standardize sizes. A ford ranger Long bed is 8 foot.
An F350 Long bed is 8 foot.
Short beds were all 6-2 to 6-5 across mini and full size and all brands for decades.

Then came these fake 5 foot or smaller beds. SO now when someone says they have a shortbed, that could mean 4 feet or 61/2 feet, or a longbed could be 6 feet or 8 feet. That's a big difference.

The issue came with Xtra cab mini trucks and the F150 Xtra cab going to crew cabs, followed by the 1500 Chev, and they shortened the Bed, instead of leaving the bed a true shortbed and adding wheelbase, because 99% never haul anything but groceries.

I just find it funny people want a truck for moto, but buy trucks with a bed that is worthless.

If I was them, I'd get a deck and go with that.

I think this thread just became "Moto"...

This is a ZR2 with a Shorty-Short Bed...a regular short-bed is avail with the extended cab or a Z71 Crew & you can fit a bike in it with the gate up.

Ultimate bike carrier on the back of it and free up some more room for other things.

On a side note, for a bigger, more powerful top of the line ZR2, it will set you back the same amount for australias holden colorado which is heaps smaller, less features and only comes out in ths 2.8L turbo diesel. If theres one thing we australians envy, its the fact we dont get your trucks. Infact a ford raptor will set us back $160000AUD. $30000 of that being the right hand conversion

The older s10 zr2 looked cool too. A local guy was running one with a LT1 and straight axle up front , it was a blast to watch him hit the mud with it ,all 4 wheels slinging gobs of mud and a dual exhaust with flowmasters screaming.

I thought you didn't have to do the RH conversion anymore?

Yeah we still gotta do it unfortunately. The only way you can get out of it is if the car is a classic e.g. was originally registered as l.h.d in aus. I know a bloke who bought a 2012 top of the line mustang for 10k aud with 15000kms. Considering theyre about 70k new, he got a bargain. One catch though, its lhd drive and can not be registered. Lucky for him he has dealer plates which allows him to drive it without registering it. Its still technically illegal to use dealer plates for personal reasons, but nothing a cop can say about the cars roadworthy certificate

Just had the oil changed for the 1st time per the computer (the truck tells you when it's time): 7,500 miles.

The 1st TWO oil changes/services are on Chevy. They rotate the tires and top up the DEF & other necessary fluids, too.

Average Mlg looks to be 24-25 mpg...it's driven fast and hard and is usually carrying a bike.

This thing is BY FAR the most "Frugal" truck I've driven...ever. The cab is very nice and the features for the price are pretty damn Impressive. The suspension is not only EPIC off-road; but, it's exceptional on the road...too. The brakes are Really Good.

I'm digging this thing.

Quality Chevy in Escondido has life time oil changes on any new vehicle purchase.

I am working with the sales manager right now. The huge discounts are on Silverado's this month. 12K off. So the starting price is less then a Colorado, may end up with one of those.

Should be picking a truck up on Saturday and taking it to Pala on Sunday for it first track trip.
