Knocked out some cube steaks on the stove (it's the only way I know how) dredged in some flour and Montreal steak seasoning, melted butter and dried minced onion before adding meat.

Bought another whole food's $15 steak, Maverick I'm taking you up on your suggestion. Put some spice on it, and bought a fancy steak sauce today to.
Yes I'm cooking it on the stove again Tongue

Let us know if you still prefer a plain steak once you're done eating one like a "normal" person.

Actually, come back to us once you grill one on the BBQ LOL.

Looking pretty good! Personally I like it a little more well done (medium rare), now if you can make a basic tasty salad and maybe some asparagus you can snag a super hot chick (they love it when guys can cook).

Throw in some baked potatoes or twice baked potatoes and you'll feel like a king.

Remember to put salt, pepper, a little butter(unless you're a factory pro), sour cream and chives.

I like to cook mine on the grill. I used to be a one flip guy but learned to start out very hot sear on both sides then back it down and keep turning it. Lots of ways to cook it that are all good, just start with a good cut, prime preferably.

I did a nice New York a couple of days ago. It was a little over 1". All I did was heat the grill to about 400 and threw it on with a little salt and pepper. It came out great. I have read that searing doesn't really hold the juices in and I have a feeling that pan fried probably ends up a little more juicy but I think the cut has more to do with that than the cooking method. BTW, I don't use the sous vide anymore. It was an added hassle that really didn't do anything for me. If you like a perfectly cooked RARE steak, then it's the shit.

Searing may or may not seal juices but it does add flavor by caramelizing the meat.
Plus the aesthetics of those perfect grill marks makes the mouth water. Cool

That does look good. I prefer medium doneness so might have to adjust accordingly.

Tried these a few months back - I imagine they tasted as good to me as dog treats do to the dog.

Couldn't stop eating them all weekend. Great for sandwiches.

Bring it back, grab another. I've left steaks out too long before because life happens and the grocery store I go to hasn't had a problem.

Anyways it's on the grill right now. Getting cooked well done lol if I die I die. If I live we'll all know it's OK to let a steak get to looking a bit glazed over in the fridge

Some of my best tasting steaks came from a "Dutch Oven" as you have there, when I go camping and cook at night I throw the old never washed Cast Pan over fire wood screened grill so I can sit there in comfort watching the fire and the sizzle of dinner cooking.

"Bringing steak back"~ I brought it back to my local grocery store and that's Safeway, no issues "go get another sir and we'll be glad to replace it"

I usually by my steaks and bird from a local home grown guy out here in the country..... I live in Peyton, Colorado which are terrific without much candy seasoning on them. but a time or two in a pinch i've settled for Safeway with my secret rub..lol

Lesson to all freshmen BBQ/Dutch-Oven Steak Chefs.
The more "Marbling" (Fat) the better the steak will be.
Most young folks look for more beef but the secret is 1/3 amount of Marble to give the beef it's taste.
