It's a sad day today in F1. Liberty media has decided to cut hundreds of jobs to hard working women in this blatantly sexist act. They have decided to do away with the grid girls. This is just another step in the wrong direction for F1. What next podium girls or everyone having to run the same engine like NASCAR...

Sad day indeed. Let's hope MotoGP doesn't do the same.

I don't think you'll get a lot of women agreeing with you about how sexist a move this is. Maybe want to reel that back in and change it to personally distressing or something.

I'm sure most normal women don't actually have a problem with models at events. The crazy feminists are just the loud minority, unfortunately it seems like they're getting louder and crazier though.

I think this channel 4 interview with Jordan Peterson sums up the feminist mindset perfectly. Incoherant emotional attacks without a valid claim or argument to be had.

I thought this meant they were gonna be using Pro Circuit pipes.

Now y'all know why no one has ever accused me of being on the cutting edge of societal evolution.

Doesn't get too much creepier than a middle aged guy ogling and publicly snapping photos of half naked 18-22 year olds.

Yeah cause you know you can’t find 18-22 year olds doing full porn online for absolutely free. But these middle aged men bought a ticket solely to ogle half dressed women in a crowd.

Sounds stupid when you say it out loud, doesn’t it.

This Bullshit is doing the exact opposite of their main goal, it's literally killing jobs for women. Legit paying jobs. But hey, whatever. PC dorks won't be happy until they've fucked everything for everyone.

One small step for women, one giant pay-cut models.
My daughter worked as a pro cheerleader and promo girl for several years.
Made pretty good money.
She never encountered a Weinstein character either.

Only 9% of women in the UK would describe themselves as a feminist, so I totally agree.

The Jordan Peterson interview was masterful, and has been doing the rounds nicely, a significant victory, though he's since said himself that it's not the way he would have chosen it, he'd rather have had a proper debate about the real issues. But since Cathy was intent on making a fool of herself and the other neo-marxist feminist ideologs...
Well, there it is.

Unfortunately the minority that do believe it are also the people in positions of power, hence the continually push of things like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFYUC7-5Nc8

Another fascinating talk from Jordan - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfH8IG7Awk0

I realize I'm the tiny minority here so I'll speak my piece and leave it.

You don't need to be a feminist to be tired of advertising using half naked women to sell everything from F1 to hamburgers. And it's ignorant to think the constant use of that imagery doesn't have an effect on women, especially young girls. To say most normal women probably don't have an issue with it is just you talking. Actually ask a normal woman for an honest opinion of what they think of Monster girls or the like. Just because they don't voice it doesn't mean they think it's cool. To pigeon-hole that idea as just something feminists think shows you don't know jack about the body issues almost all normal women have.

Please stop the white knight’ing.
My gf watches moto with me and has no problem with models doing what models do. We’ve commented on it and she’s definitely not hiding some hidden issue with it. That’s not just me talking, she’s not offended by it. Probably because she hasn’t bought in to what the victim industry is selling. It’s not her thing obviously but there is no victim here.
I personally think the whole monster girl schtick is played out with the tacky outfits. I much prefer the mxsports models. F1 did it right, most of those women were more covered than what you see women wearing at a shopping mall and they look classy and sexy at the same time.

You guys don't see the guns pointed at their heads?

Cheerleaders from High school to the Pros do beaver shots in front of a stadium full of people, and all they get is a 100-200 per game for pro teams. And they have to train their asses off for routines.

They want to do it. Same for Hooters, strippers etc.

Every woman wants to be looked at. They don't spend money on hair, makeup and clothes for the hell of it. Now the ugly bitches of the world are trying to squash it in an attempt get a slice of that attention pie that they've missed out on their entire lives.

Out of curiosity – are these women banned from being at the events in totality or just being removed from the actual grid?

Either way, they should work together and establish themselves back into the sport they are so passionate about in a context they believe in (grid girl or otherwise). Granted, it could be a futile effort as F1 is a privately owned business but it would without a doubt be an incredibly powerful statement. Not only would they show the sport their importance but they would help mold the idea of what a powerful woman is in today's society vs having it decided for them.

I do suppose the true test of this will be; how will the athletes, teams, and sponsors react? Much like getting privateers more purse money – ain't much going to happen until the stars of the sports and those who fund it put their own financial well being on the line. That said, their willingness to take action – or lack thereof – will be a clear cut indication as to how integral both privateers and grid girls are viewed in their respective sports.
