Hey guys, put in a few good thoughts for our buddy Newmann, looks like he's gonna get his ass hammered yet again. Damn near a straight b-line to his place on this one and he's prolly not even done with the SECOND total house remodel due to flooding. This one looking like it may be kinda strong too. Poor fella cant get a break. Sad

Yes, hope Newman, family, home, business and that incredible collection of vintage dirt bikes come out okay. A Cat 4 is no joke.

He needs to be "un-Newmann'ed" and let back in.
Good Luck Joe!

Will mentioning Newmann get you banned, or is it just the mention of his proper view of things?

Oh, and, hope the storm doesn't do ya dirty Joe.

Prayers for Newmann and everyone else in the path. I have a lot of family in Houston. I lived there myself for 20 years. I don’t miss times like this.

I keep in touch with him , and he is good people. I feel terrible for the guy if this thing hits him hard. Been flooded out twice in just the last couple years. He said he was just finishing up the repairs from last time , and now this one is on it's way. He said he was helping his two boys get their windows all boarded up. Also said , if he gets flooded out again , it will be the last straw.

Thanks for the update jeffro! Really hope it doesn't do similar damage as the last few, but it looks pretty strong tonight. If I was Joe, I would feel the same. 3 strikes and out.

Supposed to hit around midnight or after. Prayers to all in that path.

I hear ya man. I think he's about as prepped as he can be , but this damn storm just went up to a CAT 4. One thing for sure , mother nature can be a real bitch sometimes. And if anyone knows Joe , he's probably better prepared than 99% of the people out there , but there is only so much a person can do.

Joe said the storm is just now hitting , but seems to be veering off from his location. Not sure what the slow text stuff was about.

Think this is the craziest hurricane track I remember seeing. Taking a hard right turn & coming across south side of us - I thought we were in the clear when I first heard about where it was heading..

I hate hurricanes.

Got a text from Joe around 6am, said the eye went east of Beaumont and didnt think he had much damage but was waiting on sun to rise to confirm. Damn thing is way inland and still a Cat-2 !

This was around 2am you can see it was close but skirted Beaumont.

Joe said that it went by and did very little damage , except for some fences. He didn't mention any flooding , which is good.

Yep, no flooding at all and so far looks like he dodged the bullet, even on the beach house and his sons places as well. Hard to believe when you look how close to the eye he was, but great news all things considered.

Them poor coonasses are getting their ass kicked. Sad

The West/South side of the hurricane is a lot less dangerous because it doesn't have the storm surge like the East/North side. You don't want to be in the path of the storm surge.

Thats for sure. The surge of 1900 devastated Galveston and to this day is the largest disaster in US history.
