Great video, although I'm biased having moved here in 88. Galveston dodged a bullet for sure. Here is an aerial my neighbor took this morning at high tide on the west end. This is all salt water, it didn't rain here!

For the record, I had absolutely no water in anything and one palm frond down. Little debris washed up, but fun waves early this morning and off work! Haha

Does this happen often on high tides? Or was this one just really high compared to normal?

That's accurate! I have some real genius neighbors! Haha.. We get flooded few times a year, on the streets, but I am fairly high up for a sandbar.. Ike was the last one that did damage for me.

Yeah, my uncle's house on west bay ended up in Green's lake, or someplace while Geraldo was at the San Luis talking about how the seawall saved everyone.
Meanwhile people 300 yards north of him were in their attics trying to survive.

Hey guys, Joes been busy as hell but checked in.

No flooding, minimal damage, but all the tree/power line crews headed to Lake Charles and they told him not to expect power til Sept 4th or so. Stores are stripped bare and overall a pain in the azz.
