At Slipknot last night we somehow made it to the barrier. My wife made a very one in a million ninja catch of Mick Thompson's guitar pick. Like the Karate Kid catching a fly with chopsticks.

Just got back from seeing Slipknot, great gig as usual. Less visual with regard to images and films, which wasn't a bad thing. They kept leaving the stage between tunes while just having some pre recorded white noise moments. Don't remember them doing this previously.

My wife got me tickets to the 2nd show of the Stone Temple Pilots upcoming tour, Feb 7 I think. I’ve never really heard much with their new vocalist, and it’s an acoustic tour right when they drop their new acoustic album. Smallish venue, so could be a pretty decent show. If their vocalist is able to get even close to Weiland’s voice like the new Journey singer does to Perry’s voice, I’ll be happy.

Hopefully Pearl Jam’s tour comes up this way and preferably to the Gorge.

I would like to see Billy Strings up near Peoria in May but it's at a Festival and you can only get a 3 day pass for 200 bucks. I only want to see that one show.

Probably going to see Green Day, Fallout Boy and WEEZER this summer. Green Day is headlining, but I think Weezer will be better.

A piece of advice for headliners, based on experience: even if you are Aerosmith, don't let Lenny Kravitz open for you. Like, seriously! Woohoo I saw that exact act once and I'm not sure why Steven Tyler & Co. even bothered to go on stage afterward. Holy crap, Lenny puts on a show.

I witnessed that too, Lenny Kravitz puts on a good show, Aerosmith look like they're just phoning it in, and I've seen them a couple of times.

Apparently Aerosmith are playing over here (UK) this summer, Rival Sons are supporting them, and that's a band I have seen loads of times and they just get better and better, Steve Tyler and his pals had better pull their fingers out cos those guys fucking rock and look like they want to be there. I will try to get tickets but its mainly for Rival Sons.

I tried to get tickets for Green Day and Weezer, I can leave fall out boy but hey ho I would give them the benefit of doubt, sold out in a breath. Seen both multiple times before but they are always worth seeing, its great now cos my 13 year old son loves it, I've taken him to see Slipknot twice, Green Day, Weezer, Bowling for Soup, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters plus many more. He plays the drums so I think it's good for inspiration.

Love Sleaford Mods too. I don't think they will quite transfer well to the US but it's great if the Aussies get it.

If four horseman ever come near you I’d suggest seeing them. They’re strictly a Metallica coverband that only plays their old stuff. Saw them at house of blues over the holidays. They’re awesome. They look like Metallica from the 80s and sound identical. It’s wild. Long dark hair. Super skinny. Even the real thing can’t stay 18 but the four horseman figured it out.

I wanna see volbeat in May....

If you like Sleaford Mods then check their documentary "Bunch of Kunst". Which tells the story of them getting together and the whole dynamic, what motivates them to write and perform?

Just watched a doc about Lynyrd Skynyrd called "If I leave here tomorrow" very interesting, I didn't realise that they created so much music in such a short amount of time before the plane crash.
