It seems like open spaces like parks and golf courses could re open. People are afraid enough and now trained on SD. Machine shops, and similar businesses where people aren't nuts to butts could test for fever and obvious symptoms, require masks and have disinfecting wipes on hand. It seems that antibody tests will be available fairly soon so that people with immunity can move freely. If you're waiting for a vaccine be prepared to hunker down for another year at least. They should quit talking about it since it's not going to help the situation right now and we cannot wait for it.
They will sound the "all clear" to reopen or do so partially, the virus will come roaring back, and then we'll be on lockdown again until the cases wane. Then they'll reopen and the cycle will repeat.
I have a feeling this virus will be a common part of life from now on, just like the flu.
One thing is definitely certain--- I'd hate to be the one that had to make that decision.
I think we all need to stay on the offensive for a while on distancing and so forth. But places like parks , beech's , trails , and some business's should be re-opened...... carefully.
Here in Oregon , I see most business's stayed open , with some using just a skeleton crew. We'll have a hole to dig out of , but I personally don't think it's going to be as bad as what some predicted.

If the governors "open up" things without a vaccine, which I agree with you is sort of a pipe dream right now, it's going to be a lot of hit-and-miss stuff. For a lot of things I think it makes sense to relax some of the directives. Fishing? Sounds silly to ban that, etc.
To me the most difficult thing to return back to "normal" is going to be dining and drinking establishments. There's just no way to wear a mask and eat/drink at a packed restaurant. I am just not sure how that snaps back quite the way I wish it would.
And sue the shit out of the Chinese government for financial damages, etc. to the tune of a few trillion.
But we can't count on people being smart.
Open it up, but the mass stadiums things, I dunno about that.
As far as sueing China, that’s a waste of time.
Good way to start a WW3. Get paid in ICBMs
No, with China, we need to make a list of vital stuff we need as a nation. Medicines, textiles, energy, communications systems, steel and plastics factories, heck even auto and truck parts for example.
And then somehow build those industries back up here.
We gotta quit sucking the China tit.
Pit Row
Yeah, yeah, I've been called heartless before, and probably will be again.
That's probably true but they will be the ones that get sick. Tough shit. Darwin baby.
Everybody I see is following the mask and distance guidelines. Unless there's something I'm missing, those two things alone should stop the spread until we have widespread testing and cases taper off to almost zero. I can deal with the mask for as long as it takes. If you stay away from people then you really don't need the mask but it keeps your fingers away from your mouth and nose until you can wash your hands.
I went to see a customer that makes medical packaging today. Mask and distance for everyone. Office included. 70 or so people and not one illness. At least flu related. I know it's anecdotal but it leads me to thinking it works.
I'm not so sure you want to risk the result of that one
Everyone wearing gloves that isn’t taking care of a patient pisses me off. the mask In public is ridiculous too. Mandate everyone wear a mask because people can’t stay home and cough all over others. DUMB.
Hold your sneezes. Cough into your shoulder. Wash your hands. How hard is this concept ? Can’t fix stupid.
My favorite is when a patient sensationalizes themselves being sick. Can sit outside the room for 20 minutes charting. Walk in and when you get 1 foot away from them to push a med they look at you and COOIUGGHHHH HAAAACCKKK and moan.
Really? I just sat out here while you been finger bangin your phone / taking selfies / calling everyone to tell them you’re clearly dieing and was tested for the rona. And everytime a caregiver walks in then you wanna cough and hack all over ? WHY?!
also funerals and weddings with less than 10 people can take place,
we have a 4 level system, currently on 4, but no sports events will level 2, which may be another 6 months from when we go back to level 3, and level 2 only allows 100 people indoor, and 500 outdoor,
