Hey friends, making the trip out to the Monster Energy Cup and looking for advice on the best deals and with good locations for hotels. Be nice to be on or close as possible to the strip but if a good deal means a little bit more off the strip then I'd be interested. Been to Vegas before but always stayed at MGM. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I always stay at Bally's. It's cheap, and certainly not first class, but good enough and smack in the center of the action.

Check into Casino Royale rates. Small place on the strip next door to Harrah's, across from the Mirage. You can access the tram from Harrah's. Recently remodeled rooms. You can play single deck Blackjack, some of the best odds on Craps and table min's aren't huge like the Mega Casino's.

Imperial Palace usually has less expensive rooms and is on the strip as well just up from Harrah's.

Imperial Palace has been gone for years. It was changed to The Quad and is now called The Linq. It is no longer a less expensive option.

Ballys is by far the best deal on the strip. Smack dab right in the middle of it for very reasonable prices.

Hit the Stage Door bar next door to it for the cheapest drinks in town if you can stand the smell of stale smoke.

If not Ellis Island brewery/casino is one block off the strip behind Ballys and they have great beer and decent food at awesome prices, plus they still have $5 black jack tables.

Planet Hollywood had a pretty good party atmosphere if you want that.

The Cosmopolitan is good as well. More high-end though.

When you say good deal, do you just mean inexpensive and clean or would getting a $250 per night room for $150 be the kind of good deal that you are looking for?

If you can get a room at the Wyndham Grand Desert Resort (right behind the MGM) it's one of the best deals that I've seen. Not very loud, nice rooms (we had several three bedroom suites), and it will usually run a little less than the casinos. If you want to be near the new hot shit then try the Aria. It won't be cheap, but it is right in the middle of everything.

Thanks everyone for the input! After some package quotes and figuring out best option The Luxor ended up being our best bet. Flights from New York and 4 nights for two people $1,450 total.

sounds like you got a solid deal. Now when it comes to Vegas whores, that's something you shouldn't go cheap on.
