Funny, but I honestly don't see many Walmart selling guns anymore. Our local store does, but it seems most do not anymore.

What does the political leanings have to do with shoppers other then marketing? Please post political chart of the idiots who waste money at whole foods!

Guns or Kale??

Political leaning has everything to do with shoppers, even more now than ever, because marketing is a direct representation of their base – hence why you find guns at Walmart and not at Whole Foods.

As far as "guns or kale" question... the answer is simple; guns so I can protect my kale.

I will also say, the world needs more kale a lot more than it needs more guns.

No its because Whole Foods is a grocery store, they don't sell bicycles or lawnmowers either.

Went to W M to get some Clays while carting my 4 cases to the checkout I stopped and grabbed a couple cases of beer, while waiting I gazed at what I had in the cart then said to the chick "Nice combo Huh?"

Many Walmart's do not sell guns anymore and some don't even sell ammo anymore. And all Walmart's no longer sell any handguns or high capacity magazines. The few walmarts that sell guns carry only sporting and hunting rifles/shotguns. All gun transactions are videotaped and the salesmen has to have gun safety training.

I've seen lots of mindless liberal drones wearing camo pants during their marches and protests. I'm guessing they stock up at walmart before hitting the marching trail.

So they can get their kale and camo pants at walmart.

They are still looking for a place to purchase a brain though.

Now see, that was pretty good! tongue

No, Amazons base is everyone and that's why they're crushing everyone else (among other reasons like online presence, shipping speed, prices, etc). They know how to tip-toe the fence and they're riding it all the way to the bank.

I post a funny pic of the placement of a sign in Wal Mart that they've had to apologize for and wombat goes off the rails with his leftist agenda. Angry he is. laughing

Sitting here with a beer and a burger waiting for a project to finish rendering... couldn't be any happier right now.

Just seeing that ad and knowing the demo of their base I figured it was an interesting conversation about marketing, and marketing mistakes, to engage in. As far as my leanings, I don't have a left or right leaning agenda, I think identifying as either is as dumb and pointless as saying you're a crip or a blood and strive to call out bullshit about both parties.

Walmart made a profit of over $20B last year.

Amazon made a little under $4B.

Who's crushing everyone?

The picture of the back to school sign is a little bit funny, but it's amazing how many people think it was corporate direction. I'd actually be surprised if it turned out to be anyone other than a customer playing a joke. Maybe an employee screwing off, though.

Profit vs market value.

Walmart may have made more than Amazon last year but Amazon is worth nearly twice as much.

Yep, people buy for a variety of reasons and the old rule of earnings ratio doesn't hold as fast as it used to.

But let's break this down a little.

I will sell you a company, you have your pick of two. One will cost you $1000, and it'll make you a profit of $5 per year. The other will cost you $500, but you'll make a profit of nearly $30 per year.

Which company would you buy outright?
