I don't follow football, but for you guys that do and might be interested in the relaunch of the XFL, it starts today.

Differences between the NFL and XFL explained.

There's 2 games back to back today as well as tomorrow.

I don't remember much about the first time the XFL was introduced. I remember cheerleaders and that it flopped.

Reading the rules, I think this stands a better chance at succeeding.

I think it has a chance to become a league for players who were good in college but not good enough to start in the NFL to make a bit of money and get some play time. It has a much better chance of being successful than the AAF league that tried this same thing last year.

Looks a lot better than previous minor league football leagues.

A great place for players that get booted or weren't drafted by NFL for ethics violations. I watched a game last night and it seemed 1/2 the guys they talked about were in that situation.

I believe the quarterbacks are making significantly more because they had to sign an exclusive contract for the season. All of the other players can leave at any time if recruited by another league or the NFL, while the quarterbacks cannot be poached. With the NFL minimum being $495,000 for active roster and over $100,000 for practice squad, they had to lock the quarterbacks down with decent pay.

I'm curious to see what the average pay bump will be if this first season is considered a success.

I've watched bits and pieces of all four games so far. They've all been decent to watch as a lower-stakes fill-in for the NFL. I think Houston is by far the most exciting team so far. June Jones' offensive style always leads to excitement, and they have a fantastic looking QB for this type of league. DC's QB also looked decent. Every other team looks a little shaky at QB.

QB stats so far:

Cardale Jones (DC Defenders): 16-26 (62%), 235 yds, 2 TDs

Brandon Silvers (Seattle Dragons): 21-40 (53%), 217 yds, 3 TDs, 2 INTs

Phillip Walker (Houston Roughnecks): 23-39 (59%), 272 yds, 4 TDs, 1 INT

Chad Kanoff (LA Wildcats): 21-40 (53%), 214 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

Aaron Murray (Tampa Bay Vipers): 16-34 (47%), 231 yds, 0 TDs, 2 INTs

Matt McGloin (New York Guardians): 15-29 (52%), 182 yds, 1 TD

Dallas and St. Louis are playing right now so I haven't included their QB stats. Cardale Jones and Phillip Walker have looked the best so far, and they also have the most yards per attempt which is generally pretty telling. Aaron Murray was great in college, but he has rotated through a couple of leagues at this point with little success. It looks like he's going to be a bust here as well. Brandon Silvers seems to have potential but he just kind of slings it out there and reminds me of Jameis Winston. The other guys just look kinda meh. This level of play is fine for the first season, but I do think they're going to need some slightly higher profile QBs for this league to make it long term.

Thanks for the stats - I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Jerry Glanville is actually coaching - gives me hope I’ll be running around like a boss in my late 70s.

Watched the Wildcats vs Roughnecks game. Pretty interesting and certainly not as cheese-ball as the last go around

I thought the way they do kickoffs was pretty good actually.

Kick off is a practice holdover .. good none the less. The replay booth insight is spot on gold Jerry !! Thank you XFL !
Sideline interviews... not a big deal.

Jenny Taft ... YES !!! Great to see her working an event I'm watching.

Watched 20min of the NY game and wasn't disappointed.
