Few folks around here have them, I got to throw a leg over the 300SEFR once. Didn't really get enough ride time to formulate a great opinion, but I didn't see any glaring issues either good or bad. Motor was super smooth and made plenty of power for the single track around here, chassis was good bike turned extremely well, suspension wasn't great but they've switch to KYB now so I don't know, brakes are on par with KTM. My biggest reservation with Beta/GasGas/Sherco is trying to sell the thing after your done with it.

Would I buy one, no two main reasons
1) Resale
2) Parts, its possible via RMATV to get OEM or basically any aftermarket part next day if needed. You'll need a good dealer for OEM parts and the aftermarket is still small for the boutique brands.

I've got a 17 300 Race edition 2T, great bike parts are plentiful and as easy to get as any Jap or Euro bike I've ever owned, my dealer has had parts next day with no issue, my guy basically stocked my entire bike, wear parts are cross reference parts that your local shop or RMATV, brake pads, chain and sprocket, etc.

I have couple buddies with the 300 and 250 2T SC model which is there GNCC style model, no lights but all the wiring is there to install them in the future, Model comes with KYB forks. The bikes electric power valve applies the power very manageably, the 250 comes on stronger that the 300, the 300 is a tractor. Sherco has taken all the issue I have had with my 17 and made changes to make a great platform even better, Redesigned the power valve, bigger Radiators and did I mention the KYB fork, yeah there worth a look.
I purchased mine from Evergreen Cyclewerx in Michigan, look them up on Fb, and message him.

Bought a new 17 300 2stk, didn't like it. Was heavy for a 2stk, I didn't care for the electronically controlled power valve either. Parts have to be ordered from the importer himself, can't get things from rocky mtn, Bto sports etc. Resale is terrible.

I've got a SER-F 300 Factory Edition (2016). I love the bike, feels very light due to what I think is a low center of gravity. Can get up just about anything and is perfect in the woods. I don't think they've made any big changes in the last few years.
