I have done it. This is my 2000 engine in my 06 frame. Very easy swap. You will need 00-01 radiators and hoses, pipe, upper motor mount, 00-01 air boot and I think that's about it. Shave the back of the engine where it is square to get shock spring clearance. It's extra material and is not on the 02-07 engines. The front lower motor mount needs to be shaved about 1/16th to fit the bolt through. You can't install the engine in the frame complete. You have to take the cylinder off and bolt the bottom end in first. Also it's tight clearance between the spark plug and gas tank. I heated the plastic up with a heat gun and made clearance but from what I understand there is a short version of the br8eg or whatever it is. Great bike overall! My favorite cr250.
